I’m unfamiliar with the exact protocal that leads to an honorific becoming attached to any Church dignitary’s name. Beyond that, and agreeing with the observations that he was the validly elected Pope of the Catholic Church, I frankly am** appalled** that
anyone (on this sub-forum in particular) claiming to be Catholic would insinuate some spiritual failing or lack of
genuine participation or membership in the Faith of which JP II was the divinely inspired leader for so many years. Challenging a Pope’s status so irreverantly and without overwhelming and unrefutable evidence impresses even me, ordinarily more liberal on all things legalistic, as bordering on the heretical. I can’t begin to describe how offensive I find this exercise.
