Just say which Jews and where. Why on earth would you NOW believe me?I gave you the source, you refuse to access it.You have NO credibility.![]()
You are beyond belief. Why I repeat would you accept MY word as to what Dallin says? When you have NOT accepted as evidence any of the information contained in ANY of these posts in this thread.I repeat: you have NO credibilty. You have painted yourself into a corner and can only bleat," show me,show me…" Pathetic.Just say which Jews and where.
What’s so difficult? If Dalin says that Pius saved 800,000, which Jews were they? Where were they?
Dalin didn’t say anything of the kind, did he?You are beyond belief. Why I repeat would you accept MY word as to what Dallin says? When you have NOT accepted as evidence any of the information contained in ANY of these posts in this thread.I repeat: you have NO credibilty. You have painted yourself into a corner and can only bleat," show me,show me…" Pathetic.![]()
READ the BOOK if you seek the truth-You are still bleating.Dalin didn’t say anything of the kind, did he?
Tell me the page number where Dalin says that Pius saved 800,000 Jews.READ the BOOK if you seek the truth-You are still bleating.
No.Read the book,“Truthseeker”.In my opinion,no evidence would be sufficient for you-You have painted yourself into a corner and your pride will not allow you a graceful exit. You look very foolish.Tell me the page number where Dalin says that Pius saved 800,000 Jews.
All you have to tell me is which Jews and where. You can even surround your answer with even more gratuitous and completely pointless insults, if you like, won’t bother me in the slightest.No.Read the book,“Truthseeker”.In my opinion,no evidence would be sufficient for you-You have painted yourself into a corner and your pride will not allow you a graceful exit. You look very foolish.
I’m not insulting you.I’m speaking the truth.Oh,I do think think that it bothers you, just a teensy bit.READ the BOOK.All you have to tell me is which Jews and where. You can even surround your answer with even more gratuitous and completely pointless insults, if you like, won’t bother me in the slightest.
I thought it was interesting that the rabbi said he didn’t have the power or the authority to say he forgives and forgets, on the part of those who died and their families. He also said he cannot forgive and forget. You might like to read this thread
If you think that I take foot-stamping and door-slamming seriously, then I’m sorry to have to disillusion you.I’m not insulting you.I’m speaking the truth.Oh,I do think think that it bothers you, just a teensy bit.READ the BOOK.
It’s for the ‘wronged’ to do the ‘forgiving’, it’s a Jewish thing.I thought it was interesting that the rabbi said he didn’t have the power or the authority to say he forgives and forgets, on the part of those who died and their families.
Heaven’s I’ve even said things like ‘US politics should be none of our business as Europeans’ which, seems to be annoying to many Americans on CAF because they rather want to get cross about Europeans commenting on American politics! Not to worry though - Kaninchen’s letter telling him to butt out, that it’s a catholic matter for catholics should put him on the straight and narrow.![]()
Which I’ve not denied in any way.The priests honoured as Righteous stated they were inspired by Pius or were acting on direct orders from the Papacy. If the Pope only saved 10 lives, is that not to be celebrated and rejoiced overWhat difference if it was 800,000 or 8,000, there is NO doubt that he saved many many lives.
These are all arguable things but saying ‘he could of said more’, even if the argument can be sustained (I think it can), doesn’t mean that Pius XII was a bad guy, he was making difficult judgments while ‘between a rock and a hard place’ and nobody gets it right all the time (though I expect that Saints are supposed to).I can appreciate that some may think he could have done more, but he played it the best way he could. There’s evidence from those in the prison camps stating that every time the Pope spoke out againt their lives became more miserable. What if he spoke out more and was assasinated? Or the death rate quadrupled? he was in an impossible situation and still managed to save thousands upon thousands of livesI’d love to see how good a job old rabbie Cohen would have made of things

If you have evidence of me ‘deliberately besmirching’ the character of Pius XII anywhere on CAF, please tell me.The ingratitude, the arrogance of one to tell another of another religion what they should and should not do, and the deliberate besmirching of the character of a very holy man who worked his socks off to save those of all faiths and none, but especially jews, is quite revolting.
So doubting the 800,000 shows ingratitude and egotism? Some people need to get over themselves, learn a little gratitude, and realise they are not the centre of the universe ( despite what their mother told them)
Threatening me with a moderator because you can’t/won’t answer my legitimate challenge?Oh,that’s rich.I simply will not allow a Holy man,who is dead and who cannot defend himself to be casually slandered.Run away.If you think that I take foot-stamping and door-slamming seriously, then I’m sorry to have to disillusion you.
Anyway, since I think it best that we don’t encourage a moderator to get cross about ‘lack of charity’, I expect that further conversation should be avoided.
From my point of view, after all, there may be somebody who actually knows something about the 800,000 and is prepared to tell me ‘which Jews and where’ without all the declamatory excitements.
So, good luck with the rest of your conversations on CAF.
I’ve only ever, in all my time on the internet, complained to a moderator about one person. That person was me, I complained about my own post.Threatening me with a moderator because you can’t/won’t answer my legitimate challenge?Oh,that’s rich.I simply will not allow a Holy man,who is dead and who cannot defend himself to be casually slandered.Run away.
More dodging the issue.I’ve only ever, in all my time on the internet, complained to a moderator about one person. That person was me, I complained about my own post.
CAF moderators tend to drop in when threads get a little ‘excited’, as you’ll discover when you’ve been around longer.
So be it - but HE could have set an example. He didn’t. The Catholic Pope has - innumerable times. Maybe Rabbi Cohen could learn a thing or two from the PopeIt’s for the ‘wronged’ to do the ‘forgiving’, it’s a Jewish thing.
Excellent - so your letter to Rabbi Cohen is in the post thenHeaven’s I’ve even said things like ‘US politics should be none of our business as Europeans’ which, seems to be annoying to many Americans on CAF because they rather want to get cross about Europeans commenting on American politics!
Having read quite a bit around the subject now, including from jewish forums and websites, I don’t think it can. These are all arguable things but saying ‘he could of said more’, even if the argument can be sustained (I think it can),
Nope - saints are not supposed to have got everything right here on earth - some have even murdereddoesn’t mean that Pius XII was a bad guy, he was making difficult judgments while ‘between a rock and a hard place’ and nobody gets it right all the time (though I expect that Saints are supposed to).
Your very first post on this thread, linking to another thread, is, IN MY VIEW ONLY I HASTEN TO ADD, an attempt to besmirch the character of a very holy man who fought tirelessly to save lives in an impossible situation. The OP was a happy post drawing our attention to a display of gratitude. Your reaction was to link posts that besmirched him and question him. And what is worse, the questioning is unquantifiable and unknowable - you and noone else can say that on such and such a date, had Pius said XXX then 24,000 or 35, or 108 more lives would have been saved. The man did what he could. He saved thousands. Would that you or I could do so much for humanity. So my opinion, is that that link, served no purpose *in this thread *other than to besmirch the character of the man. That is my opinion of your post.f you have evidence of me ‘deliberately besmirching’ the character of Pius XII anywhere on CAF, please tell me.

The thing is that the board isn’t exactly short of threads about Pius. At the time of my first post here on this thread, my motivation was just “Here’s one we made earlier” (ie very recently). Common practice at CAF when a topic has been recently discussed.Your very first post on this thread, linking to another thread, is, IN MY VIEW ONLY I HASTEN TO ADD, an attempt to besmirch the character of a very holy man who fought tirelessly to save lives in an impossible situation. I couldn’t agree with you more and couldn’t have put it better myself (obviously).:getholy: :juggle:
As opposed to saying, given the tone set by the original post; good news, interesting, well deserved, nice to see his efforts recognised; something like that… At the time of my first post here on this thread, my motivation was just “Here’s one we made earlier” (ie very recently).
It is sustainable - YOU may not think so, but it is. The number of articulate Pius was a good guy threads need to be there, and thank God for them, to defend the man against ingratitude and besmirching campaigns, which, quite honestly, is nothing short of revolting. In my opinion only I hasten to add of course. As to the idea that the link was to a thread that ‘besmirched’, I think that would be sustainable if it wasn’t for the fact that there were quite a number of very articulate ‘Pius was a good guy’ posts there.

Well, we’ll just have to differ. As opposed to saying, given the tone set by the original post; good news, interesting, well deserved, nice to see his efforts recognised; something like thatNope, my opinion remains, it was nothing short of trying to discredit and dishonor the man.
