Pope prefers Communion on the tongue

The fact that there may be abuse does not mean that the Church is not under the protection and guidance of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Error that would not be committed is in doctrine and morals, not, e.g., the manner in which the Eucharist is received. The prevalence of the “grab and go” type of recipient gives one pause as to the wisdom of Communion in the hand.

It would seem possible that the obstacles to kneeling can be easily overcome; a few more moments for us in the Presence couldn’t hurt;) Although I love to have the Eucharist in my hand, thinking about it and our Holy Father makes me hope that the change will be universal. Would there be an upheaval were we to kneel against the stated wishes of the Bishops?

I try to receive on the tongue when I can. Unfortunately I’m a good bit taller than most of the priests and deacons in my parish, and I’d hate for them to struggle and possible drop the Host 😦 . I’ve thought of kneeling, but the way the procession usually works, I don’t have much room to.

From what I’ve been told from a friend of mine who attends a church with altar rails and communion on the tongue with intinction from the priest in a Latin Novus Ordo high mass (imagine that if you can) that it goes faster than the current method of in the hand with a comperable number of people at other churches.
