Then Judas the Iscariot, one (of) his disciples, and the one who would betray him, said, “Why was this oil not sold for three hundred days’ wages and given to the poor?” He said this not because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief and held the money bag and used to steal the contributions. (John 12:4-6)I sincerely pray that this horrible use of treasure is sold off and used to provide for the poor.
All the news sources state that the tiara was comissioned by a private business man. If so, that makes it a private donation to the Church and none of anyone’s business.
Someone at my Church just donated a solid gold chalice encrusted with a ring of blue diamonds to hold the precious blood on Saturdays in honor of our Blessed Mother. It’s a private donation, not anyone’s business. What are we supposed to do, sell it and give money to the poor and consecrate the Blood of Christ in paper cups?
Anyway, it is fulfilled prophecy…
**Then you shall be radiant at what you see, your heart shall throb and overflow, For the riches of the sea shall be emptied out before you, the wealth of nations shall be brought to you. Caravans of camels shall fill you, dromedaries from Midian and Ephah; All from Sheba shall come bearing gold and frankincense, and proclaiming the praises of the LORD.
** (Isaiah 60:5-6)
