…What the Pope is doing and what the delegation of Muslims is doing is a great gift to both Christians and Muslims. !
Yes , sure . Only about 2 years back , the present Pope made nasty remarks about our beloved Prophet (p) . Surely it sent a negative message to the Muslim world .

I am really happy to see that interfatih dialogue is going on with Pope / represtatives of Pope with Muslims. God Willing , this type of dialouge will take place more. 🙂

I would love to see an end to violence by these folks,i hope the whole world can peaceful~

If his intentions were truly to mock your prophet, it would have lead to another Crusade.

There have always been dialogues between Catholics and Muslims. The Vatican even has institutions for the clergy to learn deeper understanding of the Islamic faith. Some of its students include Muslims themselves and Orthodox clergy.

Check out this article entitled “Catholics and Muslims to fight terror and defend faith” posted Nov. 6, 2008 in the Washington Post. It shows the incredile progress from the dialogue which Pope Benedict XI is pushing between Muslims and Catholics.

Christ came to bring a sword, not to “promote harmony” amongst followers of the true religion and the followers of Satan (false religions, e.g. Islam). And if I recall, He commanded us to “Go forth and teach all nations”, not “Go forth and dialogue.”

I personally don’t think that it will end anything, because simply there is one God and there is only one path to him specially when the other paths completely contradict each others, so in my opinion they should have a serious talk to know which path is right, which path will lead to the true God, and not just finding workarounds.

That was a quote made by a man hundreds of years ago. Basically he said that Islam has provided nothign but violence. To prove him wrong, Muslims rioted and called for his death.

Ah, but you see the Pope IS doing just what Christ commanded. He is teaching, just in a very fundamental way. If the dialogue carries on for a long time, it will inevitably encourage those who want to know more about Christianity, to learn it – even if thier initial purpose is to negate it. Others will slowly realize the failings of Islam, over time. You don’t need to make your point with a sword or hammer all the time. If subtlety and diplomacy work, there’s nothing un-christian about such methods.
