Well, conservatives gave credit to Charlton Heston, Ted Nugent and Michael Landon when they spoke on issues on which they had no experience, training or education. As to Ms. O’Connor, while I tend to ignore the fulminations of entertainers, one should deal with her argument and not her obvious lack of credibility in the subject.

Perhaps we should avoid the ad hominem.

You can add the liberal, but the mostly conservative pundits on radio and TV today. What is their experience, training or education that makes them as expert as they claim to be?

Actually, not a lesbian. She said she was once, but then she took it back. As she has been married at least once since then and has something like four kids that she conceived AFAIK in the normal way, you can have a good argument for bisexual, but not lesbian. Not that it matters, but it’s better to be accurate.

P.S. Not country singer, either, that was a joke.

The Rock Christ built His Church upon, St. Peter-thenceforth, Peter’s replacement-our Pope is under attack.
Remember, the Gates of Hell will never prevail against Christ’s Church. The Church is where Christ’s Pope is.

Satan-the Prince of Lies once again-speaks through his Liberal, Homosexual-supporting minions. We need to continue to pray for them. They are so misled!

The Secular World encourages Mortal Sin. Satan’s voice is everywhere. Do not allow him to wear down our Catholic Wills, formed by Our Faith.

Remain firm in Our Faith in this Battle-your reward in Heaven will be great!

Onward Catholic Soldier!

God Bless.

Actually, a bald-headed, bisexual, pseudo-priest, pop/folk/reggae/R&B singer says the Pope should resign. And the media thinks we should care about it because it’s what they want to hear, no matter whom it comes from. If she’d said anything they didn’t want to hear, we never would have heard about it either. The problem is they can’t pretend it’s news if they just say it themselves.

Actually, he doesn’t “resign,” he would abdicate his position.

I actually meant that as a sarcasm-that’s why it was in ‘quotes’. It was also a rhetorical question.

How is her statement either liberal or conservative?

Don’t most so-called ‘entertainers’ today hold liberal positions? It was in the heat of the moment that I said this.

The same can be said of Presidents Clinton, Bush I, and Bush II, but people still pay attention to what they say.

I’d rather listen to the Bushes than Slick Willie Clinton any day. Sorry, I’m rather cranky today.

…Since she tore up the picture of JPII on Saturday Night Live…
Pope Should Resign says O'Connor article:
O’Connor, who once tore up a picture of John Paul II on an Irish television programme, said:…
Perhaps she tore up a picture of the Pope more than once? I remember watching the Saturday Night Live the night she tore it on that program. As far as her also doing so on an Irish programme I am unsure. Perhaps the article has it wrong or she’s done this multiple times to make a statement. If it is both, I’m curious if she did it on the Irish program before or after Saturday Night Live. I know the reaction was very severe here in the US after she did it. She got booed loudly at subsequent tours she did here in the US to the point that she was in tears.

She actually had one superhit at that time. Then she vanished. I know as Catholics we do not believe in karma, but what happened to her kinda sounds like karma.

I agree. I don’t agree with what she says or what she stands for, but I can understand there is a lot of pain behind everything she says and does.
Yep, she served time in the Magdalene Laundries, which may be one source of her anger.

But her religious zig-zags (the pope photo, then getting ordained by a traditionalist group, then calling for the pope’s resignation) suggest she is deeply conflicted and in pain.

She also said a Nun gave her her first guitar and encouraged her to play it. I think deeply conflicted is probably the best way to describe it
