Thankfully all went well with the surgery and Pope Benedict has left the hospital according to this excerpt from the article at the link below.

Dear Lord! Thank goodness it was a ‘minor’ fracture!

And on his ‘writing’ hand, too-bummer! There goes the plans for continuing his ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ book!

I wonder if this fall was the work of the devil…hmmmm…

Seriously, though…Lord, help our Holy Papa Benedict in this suffering…may he offer it for Your priests, and the whole flock that is in his care…Mary, Mother of the Church, wrap your mantle around your ‘special son’, and help him to bear his pain.

We do all need to pray for him daily, as a previous poster said, only God knows the extent of his many spiritual battles and sufferings on behalf of the entire Church. I thank God that he is our Pope.

But, perhaps this is God’s way of saying, take it easy for awhile, let people read what you’ve written so far…and take it all in.

Yes, that’s true-maybe he can dictate it to his secretary Mons. Ganswein [sp?].

I saw a picture of him on the EWTN website-news portion-you could see his fingers peeking out from the cast.
