It sounds like he is quite capable of doing his job. If he needs help getting around, so be it. he is in my prayers.

May the Lord preserve our Holy Father, Benedict. May He give him life
and protect him in this life and reserve for him the reward of the just. Amen.

Pax Christi

The disease may be painful for him, but it seems like the Vatican is already taking care of any needs his possible condition raises. The Holy Father is in my prayers.

Agree. He already has a trip to Africa coming up soon. He wouldn’t be so anxious to be traveling around if he couldn’t handle it with meds. He is in his mid 80’s already, so of course he’s going to have something to deal with. Actually I think he has been amazingly spry up to this point! He has my prayers as usual.

Most adults half his age already have some joint degeneration going on, by the way, especially former athletes. What he has sounds like the wear and tear that a previously active individual experiences as they age. I pray that he’s comfortable and can maintain his mobility and strength.

By the way, the Vatican does have one thing incorrect. “Arthrosis” is the anatomical term for a joint, it’s not a joint disease or dysfunction. It’s a plain old joint. “Arthritis” is the correct medical term for an inflamed or diseased joint.

You’d think that a Vatican spokesman would be the last person alive to botch up a Latin term!

I love Pope Benedict XVI and I am sorry to hear that he is dealing with this condition. It sounds like it could be very painful. May God bless him and keep him healthy. Amen.
