Pope to call for new evangelization of world's migrants

Vatican City, Oct 25, 2011 / 01:28 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Pope Benedict XVI will mark January’s World Day of Migrants and Refugees with a call for the “new evangelization” to extend to migrant workers, refugees and international students.
“The phenomenon of migration today is also a providential opportunity for the proclamation of the Gospel in the contemporary world,” the Pope will say in his message, a preview of which was released by the Vatican Oct 25.

Considering the recent news that many young Hispanic migrants abandon their faith, I think that this is all the more important.

Considering the recent news that many young Hispanic migrants abandon their faith, I think that this is all the more important.

And proper catechesis is essential, especially in view of the fact that many “social justice” organizations target migrants and encourage them to abandon certain key moral principles of their faith, by providing contraceptives to them and advising them of resources to obtain abortions should the need arise - (all in the name of “reproductive health,” of course.)

I agree, good catechesis should be a part of any evangelization program.
