Pope to consecrate world to Mary's Immaculate Heart

Regarding the topic at hand: The Pope himself has a strong devotion to Our Lady and we as have past Popes. Not the least of which is a man who not only was Pope but will be canonized very soon. A Pope who credits Our Lady with his very life. And has placed a bullet meant for his heart into her crown! And then this. Francis, continuing to teach and to guide his flock with a strong consecration to Mary. Not only of Rome, America, Latin America, Africa or whatever boundary and name we use to separate ourselves from one another but the WHOLE WORLD. Lumping every race, creed, division and individualism into one.
IF this has any significance to a private revelation from years ago I cannot say. Honestly I cannot care. Because he is not framing it that way but rather framing it in a way that we need to think about. That we need to participate in. That we need to follow. If there were any connection I would imagine it to be a small one.
Does anyone know if this consecration extends beyond “peoples” to things like the physical world itself? The climate, the animals, the mass of matter that is the physical world we live on?

It’s about saving souls my brother, so it would be for people.

For what it’s worth, having been consecrated to Mary for 35 years, I can’t help but feel anxiety for souls that are not, especially Roman Catholics.

Thanks for giving several useful dates. You give the “politically correct” date for the begining of WWII. However, I suggest it actually began earlier.

Mary’s message:

You don’t. The World has been consecrated before to Mary, by other Popes But, you have until the 13th to begin prayers to fully participate in what the Pope wishes!

Are there two Virgin Mary Fatima statues, one the original and one the Pilgrim Statue that travels? Thanks…

World Consecration Timeline​

December, 1940: Sr. Lucia writes letter to Pius XII, saying that Our Lord Himself requests the Pope to “consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with a special mention for Russia, and order that all the Bishops of the world do the same in union with Your Holiness.”

October 31, 1942: Pope Pius XII consecrates the world to the Immaculate Heart.

July 7, 1952: Pope Pius XII consecrates the Russian people to the Immaculate Heart

November 21, 1964: Pope Paul VI renews, in the presence of the Fathers of the Vatican Council but without their participation, the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart.

May 13, 1982: Pope John Paul II invites the bishops of the world to join him in consecrating the world and with it Russia to the Immaculate Heart. Many do not receive the invitation in time for the Pope’s trip to Fatima, where he accomplishes the consecration. Sr. Lucia later says it did not fulfill the conditions.

October 1983: Pope John Paul II, at the Synod of Bishops, renews the 1982 Consecration.

March 25, 1984: Pope John Paul II, “united with all the pastors of the Church in a particular bond whereby we constitute a body and a college,” consecrates “the whole world, especially the peoples for which by reason of their situation you have particular love and solicitude.” Both the Pope and Sr. Lucia initially seemed uncertain that the consecration has been fulfilled, but shortly thereafter Sr. Lucia tells the papal nuncio to Portugal that the Consecration is fulfilled.

March 11, 1985: Mikhail Gorbachev elected General Secretary of the USSR, institutes Glasnost and Perestroika, leading to final dissolution of the USSR, the liberation of Russia, and the end of the Cold War on December 25, 1991.

I think it would be like praying for someone else. They don’t have to agree with you praying for them or even know about it. You are being an advocate for that person.
In the same way, the pope is the advocate for the whole world. He’s the successor to St. Peter who was put in charge by none other than our Lord Himself!
