Pope uses message to attack hardline Iran

Pope has used his inaguaral new year message to launch a vieled attack on Iran’s hardline leadership. Pope Benedict’s comments follow calls by Iran president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for Israel “to be wiped” off the global map and his recent dissmissal of the Holocaust.

hmmm… I think the author of that article is reading a lot into the Pope’s message.

The comments that the author interprets as a veiled attack on Iran could just as easily be applied to the United States or many other nations.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Religious is fundamentalism is a problem in a lot of ways. Obviously there are the Muslim terrorists, but we have problems with fundamentalists in our own country. In the last year, we’ve had one prominent religious leader call for the assasination of the leader of another country and threaten the people of a certain county with God’s wrath for voting out a bunch of idiots on a school board.

Yes there was also that group that not only threat but also bombed countless embassies, the USS Cole, the World Trade Center twice – knocking it down the second time – the trains in Madrid, & buses in London.
