Christians may be the most persecuted group in the world, and their persecution is on the rise. As Islamic extremism takes hold and repressive governments step up their campaigns against Christianity, the Pope has been moved to warn of “a form of genocide”, and for campaigners to speak out over “religio-ethnic cleansing.”

Organisations that monitor religious persecution have rung alarm bells worldwide, from South America to sub-Saharan Africa and from Asia to the Middle East, warning of a rapid increase in attacks and repression, The Guardian has reported.

It quotes the Pope, who, on a recent trip to South America, said he was dismayed “to see how in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world many of our brothers and sisters are persecuted, tortured and killed for their faith in Jesus.” He continued:

“In this third world war, waged piecemeal, which we are now experiencing, a form of genocide is taking place, and it must end.”

That’s funny. A group of pro-gay “marriage” folks just told me in so many words recently I’m not the real victim.

I thought it was only Western liberal elites and aspiring liberal elites who decide who’s a victim and who isn’t. 😛

A growing number of Christians -Michael Voris among them- are open to the possibility of a worldwide persecution (or genocide) of the Christian community. It is notable for the pope himself to consider/advocate such a possibility.

I can see the faith being attacked as the world becomes more secular, but I do not see a worldwide genocide. I do see Christians and Christianity being attacked.

USA has just authorized air-strikes against Syrian Arab Army (Assad’s forces). If president Assad falls, Antioch Patriarchate, and other Christians there will be wiped out. Pope should openly condemn USA and openly support Assad.

When did this happen? Why all of a sudden are we doing air strikes against Assad’s forces?

Because that was US intention from the beginning. To get rid of Assad and his independent regime. Libya all over again.
There are 3 parties, Government Forces, Rebel Forces and Islamic State. Only Government Forces are pro-Christian and pro-secular Muslims. If rebels win or Islamic State, we can say good bye to Christianity in Syria.

Here in the USA we are told over and over by the American left that the Christians here are not the real victims when we are persecuted.
