I’ve had friends struggle with porn. Men who wanted to stop for the sake of their families. As stated, killing is never a good thing either, but porn is on a whole other level IMHO.

Galan, just using your post as an example like all the others like it above. This line of thought is completely twisted logic.

Watching detailed images of bullets blowing holes in peoples bodies or heads or whatever is just as disordered and offensive to God as watching sex. Society with Satan’s help has just been conditioned that such things are not that bad. If you look at films/TV before the mid 60’s you would see someone being shot, stabbed, murdered in a shadow, or from behind the action with no exit bullets. Today the gorrier the better, full detail images of human bodies with bullets or knives entering bodies, lots of blood splattering everywhere. Bullets and knives exiting the bodies, again lots of detail and lots of blood, now that’s entertainment.:rolleyes: It is offensive to our Lord.

If you used the logic about only real people and porn, than detailed books and stories would be ok. How about computer generated movies? Think of the quality of Toy Story in full hard core porn. The graphics and images are getting more life like every month. In the next 12 - 24mos you will not be able to tell the difference. According to the logic above as long as you watch it without lust or self gratification, their’s no harm done. Even statues or paintings hundreds of years ago could show full porn because it was not real people.:rolleyes: Wrong, totally offensive to God’s gifts of life and human sexuality.

Think about standing in front of the Blessed Mother, saying. Well yes, Blessed Mother, I did watch images of people getting holes blown in them or razors slicing them open, but it was just entertaining to me. Or yes Blessed Mother, I did read sexually graphic Romance Novels and watch hard core animated porn, but it was just make believe. Only computer generated, full on porn, nothing wrong with that is their?🤷 Really!

Watching murders or porn is totally offensive to God, we have just been duped by Satan a little bit at a time, to think it’s not really that bad.

Actually God didnt clothe them…They ate from the tree and tried to hide their sin by covering themselves up…But thats a different topic altogether 🙂

Actually, they made garments of fig leaves for themselves (Gen 3:7), and then after their conversation with the Lord, the Lord made them garments of skin and clothed them (Gen 3:21). It’s as though they wanted to cover themselves in plants, but the Lord raised them up a little. (My interpretation 1:7)
 
I know that porn is sinful. But, I would like to know why watching porn is sinful, and why watching another sin, such as a murder, is not.

Why would porn be sinful?
Watching anything can not be sinful. Doing bad things is sinful. From my point of view murder is an awful thing. On the other hand I have no problems with porn. Murder causes someone to die, porn has no such consequences. There is no justification for committing murder.

Watching porn is a direct consequence of human nature, human is a sexual being. There is nothing wrong watching such stuff. If you like it then you watch it, otherwise you just ignore it.

Porn emasculates a man.

What is manhood, from the perspective of marriage, to which human beings are naturally ordered? Manhood involves the ability to love a woman and give oneself to her completely. Porn destroys that ability. When someone addicted to porn enters a marriage, he won’t want to give himself to his wife through the marital act. All he’s wants is to receive pleasure, because that’s all he’s ever trained himself to do. There’s no selflessness involved at all, because porn has robbed him of his masculinity by depriving him of the capability to appreciate femininity.
 
…i am not too concerned with the question “is watching porn sinful”, but why would you watch porn in the first place? Just curious:confused:

And that doesn’t even get into the fact that marital relations are intimately private. Any intrusion, such as cameras, is a gross (in every sense) violation of that privacy. Now there’s a ‘right to privacy’ worth respecting!
 
Porn has changed a lot since I was a young man. It used to be visually appealing with very pretty girls wearing nothing but a smile. Although sinful, there was immense pleasure in viewing it. These days most of what can be seen on the internet is really sort of gross and some of it is downright disgusting and degrading. The worse part is that the disgusting stuff can hit the pleasure center of the brain the same way as the more “tasteful” stuff of my youth.

I look at it this way, pornography is a lot like junk food. It can be delicious, a lot of fun to eat and quite addictive. Eat enough of it and it will destroy your emotional and spiritual health. The best advice is to stay away from it.
