I was discussing a similar topic as this thread with a friend, an upright and pious Catholic. He told me that care needs to be taken when buying antiques because if they come from a household where oujiboards and spiritulistic practices were conducted, etc. owning these antiques and bringing them into your house could cause difficulties. I’m not into antiques or flea markets, etc. so I never gave his advice another thought until I came across this thread. He is not given to superstitious behavior so I have to think there is something to what he said.

If the OP wants to show us who provided it and give us a good look at it we might be able to judge the probabilities more, or judge them on her? own.

This is the bracelet. I checked the reviews and what the store sold beforehand and it seemed pretty legitimate. The store only sells Catholic stuff and the reviews are all very positive. At least, that’s what I found…maybe someone else may dig something up?

Thanks for the link but the message I get clicking it is:

This purchased item information is no longer available.
Code:
There are a number of reasons why this information isn't available. The most common reason is that item details for purchases are not kept for more than 90 days.

Do you have a more general/recent link to the store or a similar item?

That store doesn’t have the look of a place that would sell potentially cursed items, so I’m thinking perhaps Shin’s assessment of the situation was correct. I didn’t notice your RCIA ticker at first. (Congrats and prayers for you, btw). Demons have a thing for pestering Candidates and Catechumens. I wonder if maybe they were just using an outward sign of your conversion (the bracelet) to try to frighten and discourage you, and now that you’ve had the bracelet blessed, you’re repelling them. 🙂

You might want to say this hedge prayer for protection; it is a beautiful and powerful prayer.

I read that if you feel spiritually attacked, say something like “Blessed be Jesus and Mary” or just Jesus’ Name… and that helps 🙂 and also keep some holy water at home and bless yourself with it… I’m glad it stopped once you got the medals blessed 🙂
