Since you’re already Catholic, all you need to do is go to confession and return to regular Mass attendance. None of that requires any fanfare. It’s really that simple.

I said that Jesus is the One to go to for guidance.
Do you mean you don’t see Jesus in your Protestant neighbors?
I don’t think she said that at all.

I believe in going to the top. That means I go to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Correct, Irishmom2. When I was little, I was taught by the Catholic Church to go to Jesus (or to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost as the Holy Spirit was known at that time) in all things. And that Mother Mary always leads us to her Son.😀

So yes, I look to Jesus as the One to turn to in all things.

I think you just want to argue this, @AndrewAxlland. And I believe I have made myself quite clear.

It was a serious question, prompted by your statement that you “disagree about looking to Protestants for guidance in anything.”

I’m out the door to work now. Will gladly read and respond in the AM.

I have made it clear that the One to turn to is Jesus. Jesus doesn’t tell you what you want to hear. He tells you what you need to hear and what you need to know. He tells the Truth. He is the Truth.

Jesus Christ and His Church, the Catholic Church are One and the Same. Elements of the Truth may be found in individuals and protestant communities outside the Church but the fullness of Faith will only be found in the Catholic Church. Indeed there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. I’m sure there are those like you that accuse Faithful Catholics of arrogance when we speak the Truth but we follow the One who said ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by me.’ That was considered an arrogant statement and He was killed for it. Truth has always been accused of arrogance.

Of course we do not cut ourselves off from protestants. The mission given to the Catholic Church by Christ is the salvation of souls. The apostles were not sent out to mingle. They were sent to spread the Truth of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.

the other churches don’t have “the fullness…” that you want

the other churches don’t have the “fullness of the truth”. Protestant cant be protestant, if there’s no original

I see this a lot on the forum…those that blame their lack of Faith on others. I’m not sure how that will fly when you stand in front of Jesus. Well you know Jesus I left your Church and rejected your Sacramnents because well gosh darn it the welcoming committee didn’t return my call. I’m not sure I’d want to go in front of Jesus with that game plan.

Sounds like you are at a great place in your faith journey, with regards to your convictions and determination. Wouldn’t it be nice if we helped everyone who wasn’t that far get to that place?

For all those here who are so proud of their strong faith and not needing other people (as opposed to Jesus and God), maybe lending a hand to others who aren’t that far in their journey would be a good (and right) thing to do. It may begin with extending some open arms and a warm smile with the word “welcome”.

You’re back and posting again?

I have been stuck at the hospital recently with a lot of time on my hands, so I have been reviewing things on my old sites. I probably won’t be staying long.

You are still a Catholic, whether you’re reverting or not. Go to a priest in confession maybe, tell him you’ve been a “lapsed” Catholic who wants to come back. He might ask you then to confess your sins and then you could receive the sacraments again. But talk to him about the next steps.
