From everything I know about him, Chesterton was not only a brilliant and orthodox man but also a very good one.

When I saw this though, I first thought of his response to the The Times when they solicited essays from a number of prominent writers on the question, “What’s wrong with the world?”, and Chesterton wrote back, “Dear Sirs, I am. Sincerely yours, G.K. Chesterton.”
 
I love Chesterton; his writings helped me to solidify my Faith Catholic.

I would count the Father Brown series as one of the miracles 🙂

An investigation has begun into English writer and Catholic convert G.K. Chesterton’s cause for canonization. Who knows whether a sort of Fr. Brown figure will be investigating the canonization cause of English writer Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874-1936)? It was recently announced that Bishop Peter Doyle of Northampton, England, has appointed a suitable cleric to begin an investigation into the potential for opening a cause for G.K. Chesterton, a writer, essayist and journalist and author of the much loved Father Brown detective stories who converted to Catholicism in 1922.

For someone to be canonized, two miracles have to occur through that person’s intercession. I admire Chesterton, no one can simply declare him a saint, even the Vatican, without such miracles. That said, he could be if God supports his cause in that way.
