This stained glass window was originally in St. Vibiana’s Cathedral in Los Angeles, and when that cathedral was decommissioned after earthquake damage, it was moved to the mausoleum under the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

So another Caravaggio that hasn’t been posted…it is called “The Taking of Christ”. I saw it recently. This painting had been hanging in the Dublin Jesuit’s dining room since the 1930’s and “nobody” believed it was really a Caravaggio until the 1990s. Why the Jesuits let on to the great artistic treasure they had is…well…nice of them . I was able to see it in person.
