Hello All,

Are we the Church, 1.1 billion Catholics, ready to accept the mass martyrdom that the biblical book of Revelations seems to call for? Are we the Church, 1.1 billion Catholics, prepared to say, “No! even if my children starve to death, I will never put the mark of the Beast on my, or my children’s, forehead”?

I am thinking that we will at least get a couple thousand Catholics willing to accept martyrdom rather than turn away from Christ and unto damnation, during the Apocalyps. I think it was a couple thousand Catholics who accepeted martyrdom rather than kill for Hitler in WWII.

The secular world is always planing and thinking about different catastropic senarios. Has the Church put together any plan in the event, an event which seems eminant, that 1.1 billion Catholics all of a sudden need to choose martyrdom for themselves and their families in order to remain faithful to Jesus Christ and hang on to their eternal salvation?

I am sure that Satan has studied just what evil worked well for him in WWII. I am thinking the devil will ask the apocalypse era Pope, “How many people do you want to save from physical death? All I, the devil, want is Catholic’s souls. If you remain silent and not preach to Catholics what they must do to go to heaven, now in this apocalyptic era, I will spare the physical life of 800,000 people. Ok 8 million people’s physical lives I will spare, if you remain silent to Catholics on what they must do to go to heaven. You are pushing it but ok, I will spare the physical lives of 800 million people if you remain silent to billions of Christians for putting the mark of the beast on their foreheads in defiance to the will of Jesus Christ. Consider yourself Beatified by the Church for saving 800 million physical lives.”

Ok maybe I am going a little over board with exageration. Possibly killing for Hitler in his evil, unjust war, rather than accepting martyrdom, was not mortal sin. But hey let us throw some thought into just how we, the Church (1.1 billion Catholics), will react when accepting the mass martyrdom of 1.1 billion Catholics, rather than turning away from Jesus Christ, is demanded of us in the eminant future apacolyptic era.

What do you think?

The Church should not care a fig about what noncatholics think in these kinds of decicions, if Ven Pius XII is in heaven and worthy of our honor he is, no matter what an Israeli ambassador thinks.

Uh … wow.

I guess my thought is that “effective” would be something less than destruction of 40 percent of all the Jews in the world. I will confess that I hadn’t though in terms of how much less.

Saying “it could have been worse” doesn’t mean you were effective.
Considering that the Catholic Church doesn’t even have an army, exactly what were you expecting?

You also seem to have neglected to add into the equation the number of Jews who survived WWII but chose not to return to their home countries, but instead to join the exodus to Israel. So, that certainly contributed to the near-extinction of Polish Jewry after the war as well. Should we blame that on the Church, too?
