Love isn’t wrong…Unnatural sex is. Consenting to any romantic feelings or whatever that lead one to unnatural sexual activity is of course wrong. Real Christian charity means desiring what is best for the other. Engaging in unnatural activity is contrary to nature (thus God) and is never good for anyone spiritually or temporally. Therefore, it can never be real love.
I always thought Christ taught us to be loving and tolerant. Not to judge others. Not to condemn others and to accept everyone. I also don’t think the obsession with some in the church with sex is particularly helpful. I sometimes wish as God grants us all the gift of further enlightenment, some people in the church could keep up.
Christ did teach us not to judge others, that is why we shouldn’t look at someone walking up to communion and say “oh wow they are unworthy” time better spent in prayer with Jesus at that sacred time.
Although we should never commit the sin of rash judgment (a sin against others) we can and should judge actions. Christ did. The Church does. The great Saints did.
People who disagree with Church teaching always go with the “sex obssessed” accusation. Just because the Church says God made sex for a reason and expects it to be used as such does not mean the Church is sex obsessed.
God grants people enlightenment true, but the Church does not keep up with the times. If the Church should keep up with the times…what is the point in the Church really?
