Well I certainly did not hear Miss Johnson tell the news reporter that she was not currently in a relationship with a woman. I did not hear her say that the Preist was wrong in his accusation. All I heard was her complaints about not being able to ā€œtakeā€ communion (this is how it was reported, not about receiving). It is all about HER feelings. The Preist was 100% correct in what he did, Praise the Lord. Now when will we hear about Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Kathleen Sebulius, Johjn Kerry, etc…screaming to reporters that they were denied communion? I am praying for that day.

Father Marcel Guarnizo: 'I Did The Only Thing a Faithful Catholic Priest Could Do’

Some will likely say that he should not have spoken, but I commend Fr. Marcel for speaking up, and doing so in such a detailed manner. The faithful of his parish have a right to know what is going on, and he has a right to his good name.
Br. JR has told us that we do NOT have the right to know what is going on. It is none of our business.

I agree that he should not be defamed, but in the same token, I don’t think he has a right to publicly chastise the vicar general or the bishop by, in effect, saying they were wrong. There is supposed to be an investigation going on, which would hopefully have cleared his name quickly. Public statements and public accusations just make the process longer and harder.

I didn’t say we had a right, I said his parishioners do, and I stand by that. And, frankly, I disagree with those who say that the faithful in general don’t have a right. If you think situations like this aren’t scandalizing the laity, take a look at the conversations going on at virtually any Catholic forum, news posting, blog, etc. and see the level of concern. I think many of the faithful are sick of seeing people like Sister Carol Keehan or Father Michael Pfleger openly defy the bishops and reject the teachings of the Church for decades and nothing is done. Yet, a priest moves to protect the sanctity of Holy Communion and if his version of events is accurate, he is suspended without even being given the courtesy of providing his side of the story to the vicar general. Combine that with the fact that the archdiocese of Washington openly allows politicians who defy Church teachings on issues such as abortion, etc. to receive communion. Its no wonder the faithful are scandalized and are up in arms regarding this situation.

It was archbishop Fulton Sheen who stated that it is the duty of the laity to make sure our bishops act like bishops. Well, here we go.

And yes, there is supposed to be an investigation going on. Perhaps the archdiocese should have thought about that before making the public statements that they did where they chastised him. Perhaps they should have waited until they had some further information instead of just being politically correct before they removed him from his duties.

The whole thing stinks out loud.

This is the second incident recently of a priest being suspended for criticizing homosexuals. In September the Catholic Diocese of Bathurst, New Brunswick removed an elderly priest, 85-year-old Fr. Donat Gionet from active ministry after he caused a storm of controversy by denouncing homosexuality, cohabitation, and abortion in an August homily.

This seems to be standard procedure and it’s not surprising seeing as a large number of ā€œCatholicā€ Bishops in North America are card carrying members of the homosexual mafia.

Here is a little background on Cardinal Wuerl from Randy Engel who has been tracking these homosexuals in the Church hierarchy for years

I would be very cautious in posting such links if I were you. There is some very inflammatory stuff in there will no supporting evidence. In fact, I would probably write a moderator and ask them to help you edit your post.

Friendly advice, take it or leave it.

Peace of Christ,

Since when has the laity had a right to have the sins of their peers publicly announced to them by a priest?

How do you presume to know the state of that woman’s soul? She may have gone to confession with another priest. Same with an adulterer. How does the priest know that a person hadn’t gone to confession? 😦
The question seems that she was living with another woman.

waw, the priest was suspended.
I am speechless.
It was not for this but he, it seems, mistreated attendees to the Church.
I am speechless.

Sadly, it is par for the course. See Fr. Michael Rodriguez. Transferred by his bishop for writing against gay marriage in the newspaper. His bishop was then transferred to another diocese. This same bihsop then proceeded to civilly sue Fr. Rodriguez. There is a long unfortunate pattern of persecution of priests who speak out against the gay lobby in the US.

In any case, Fr. Guarzino has defended himself and set the record straight.
