TrueLight:

Congratulations! :extrahappy: And may your first Holy Communion tomorrow bring you great joy and blessing ! 👍

Oh by the way, we did practice how to receive after the ceremony. I got to receive an unconsecrated host. I was so embarrassed, still being unsure of how to open my mouth, but I think I got it now.

So traditional parishes sort of do it differently. I was received into the church, but I will not be confirmed until around Easter. I know if you do RCIA, you get confirmed and receive holy communion all at once.
This depends on the situation at the parish and in the diocese. Sometimes pastors of traditional parishes are granted faculties to confirm. In those cases, the confirmation may well take place immediately after reception into the Church, even in traditional parishes, even if it’s not Easter time.

I would guess it somewhat depends on whether or not the local bishop is more or less willing to do confirmations in the traditional rite.

Anyway… back to the real topic:

Congratulations TrueLight!

I’m very pleased (because I imagine you also are pleased) that you received instruction in a traditional parish rather than go through RCIA. It just seemed like the right path for you.

Wow! Not so long ago you were so frustrated at the length of time you had to wait before receiving Holy Communion… It’s just September! 🙂

Congratulations, TL. Welcome home. :extrahappy:

PS: I think it’s time to change your religion status once again. 🙂

And I would be remiss if I didn’t add my Congratulations! I’ll offer up my Mass attendence tomorrow for your “welcome into the Faith”.

We have our monthly TLM at our local OF parish tomorrow at 4:00 pm PDT.
We didn’t get our green maniple finish for the Roman vestment set so we have to use the green velvet Gothic set again. Its pretty but not as beautiful as the old green Roman set.
The maniple was the only piece missing.

The sewing machine broke down again. Really frustrating! Perhaps next month.

Anyway, Truelight, welcome home.

Well done TrueLight. That’s wonderful! Now…next target…a nun? 😛

:rotfl::rotfl:

Don’t do what I did. I didn’t open my mouth enough, he could barely place the Host on it! :o

Here’s the interesting part. I was told that if I am a convert, they have the faculties to confirm me at any time, but since at one point I thought I might have been baptized Catholic, I was told in that case I would have to wait for the Bishop. It’s still not conclusive where I was baptized (as a baby) (I was baptized as a Protestant adult as well), so just to be sure, I took the route of the new convert instead of the revert. I am fine with waiting for April. It should be a beautiful ceremony.
Anyway, back to the real topic:

Will, you suggested I take this path, so thank you. 🙂

Thank you so much. This is the second mass that was offered for me. The priest offered a mass for me the day of my first confession. I feel so blessed!

Congratulations, TrueLight, on your newly-found faith and may you grow daily in it. Mazel Tov!
Thank you, my Jewish brother and fellow NY’er! 🙂
Congratulations! Welcome home to the Catholic Church which is of course the Church that Jesus founded and the only true Church! 👍:extrahappy:
Thank you Holly and may my new convert zeal also inspire a renewal in you (I’m praying for you!).

You know it seemed like forever because the moment I became interested in Catholicism in March, I burned to become Catholic.

So even though it seemed like forever (because I attended about between 72 - 100 masses since that time without being able to receive), I only started Catechesis in mid July, and received 8 weeks of one-on-one instruction by a fabulous priest!

Can’t change my Religion until tonight, since I an receiving the Spouse this morning. :signofcross:🙂

Congratulations, True Light!

Just to see your enthusiasm over the last few months on the boards has really made this old time Catholic appreciate my faith that much more. You are some very welcome new blood in the body of Christ!

God Bless!!!
