Merciful and loving Father, we humbly beseech you to look with unfathomable compassion upon Erin. It is You alone, Lord, Who conceived of her from all eternity and Who knew what the burden would be for the perfection of her soul. As she suffers, we pray that she will turn to our Lord Jesus Christ for strength. We ask that she be accompanied by her Angel and fortified for that which lies ahead. Out of love, grant her doctors, nurses and technicians who reflect Your love to those around them, restoring hope in an increasingly hopeless world. May she benefit from the faith and ability to offer her suffering up as a penance for her sins, knowing that it is her purgatory on earth. In the fulness of time, when You call her to You, may her soul be in a state of perfection, allowing her to join the ranks of the Church Triumphant as a Saint in Heaven. Blessed and merciful Lord of Love, we ask this in the Name of Christ Jesus, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!
