Dear Friends , Joy is healing satisfactorily after her mastectomy operation , attended by the district nurse … The doctors at the hospital are pleased with her progress , and apparently after discovering a cancerous growth in the lymph gland on her initial biopsy in addition to the main cancer , were surprised to find during the operation that there was no sign of any cancer in the lymph gland - it had NOT spread ! God be praised ! and thank you all for your wonderful prayers , for which Joy in turn, gratefully thanks you .
She is shortly , in about a fortnight , to commence a four week daily course of radiotherapy to which she is not looking forward , so I would ask you , dear friends to continue your generous and loving prayers. May God Bless you all , and answer and grant your petitions and intentions

Father in heaven, during this time of fasting, prayer and almsgiving, may we offer our prayers up for Your continued blessing of Joy, who embodies her very name. Grant that her blessings continue and that her doctors and nurses reflect Your love to her. Graciously give her an increased appreciation of life, and fill her spirit with the knowledge that she is loved beyond measure. Teach her, Lord, that she is never alone and that Your arms are ever at her side to receive her when she is weak or her hope falters. We thank You and praise Your Name that she is carried along by the numerous and fervent prayers on her behalf. Lastly, we beseech You to grant her healing in accordance with Your will. We ask this through the perfect intercession of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Your only Son, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Lord, we lift Joy up to You, beseeching Your mercy upon her. Reassure her with the trustworthiness of Your promises, that she may never lose hope throughout her battle. Increase her faith, O loving Father, strengthening her to remain at peace as she journeys along the path of treatment. We pray that those who treat her will reflect Your love to her. Grant that our prayers reach Your ears through the intercession of our Savior Jesus Christ, Your only Son, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever.
