I have a serious problem with porn and masturbation. Nothing seems to work for me in getting rid of this scourge. Please pray for me. God Bless.

Dear Gideon,

I’ll pray for you. Invoke the help of the Divine Mercy. He will never fail a contrite soul. Remember, His mercy is greater than all our sins combined.
 
Poor thing! Stress and worry about it doesn’t help either.
How can you stop yourself from making the choice to watch porn? It’s an occasion of sin as it is a choice, so can you post a reminder on your computer that you understand and will make you think again? May God help you to find peace and calm, and good sensible ways of stopping you before you travel the path!
God strengthen your good old commonsense to help you get out of this squirrel’s cage!

God’s peace be with you, Gideon…you might find helpful the discovery of Traditional Ang in the Carmel Library…his second post on his current thread regarding addiction and 40 days of prayer. May the Spirit guide you to choose a little prayer to say for the next 40 days (and continue to say)… God grant that you don’t focus on the temptation, so maybe even jsomething simple like “Jesus I trust in You to lead me to live as You wish”…

May God help you to persevere, in the prayer, and in your efforts to break free. Bless you, Trishie!
 
Praying for you and this struggle. Please don’t give up but keep working to get free from this sin. As Trishie suggested, a big key is avoiding the occasion of sin. Will pray for you tonight to overcome this struggle…
 
I ask our Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for you in the Hail Mary prayer. This prayer works a lot for me.

Lord of mercy and forgiveness, strengthen gideon12 against the snares of the devil. Grant Heavenly assistance in this epic battle against the evil one. May the Angels be mobilized, lead by Saint Michael the Archangel, to combat and defeat this ever-present enemy. By Your Divine power, Father, may this temptation be forced back into hell, from whence it came. Lead your beloved child into righteousness, ever toward our Blessed Lord Jesus, who strengthens us in all things. We ask this through the same Lord Jesus, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever.
 
I will pray for you whenever I can as I am also having this problem I am addicted to porn as well. I want to get rid of this. I tried several times. Deleted all porn content. Put away all dvd’s I can’t hang on for more than 2 days. I watch it when I get on the internet. I cant pull myself back. I could abstain from meat throughout lent, but I cant stop thinking of porn . It is affecting my life. I recently got laid off from work now am trying to find a new job in this hard times. But porn is going crazy in my head, can’t resist the temptation. Cant focus.

Is there any one who successfully overcame this. Please give serious advice.
