Pray for my conversion to the Catholic Church

I have felt pulled to the Catholic Church for years. I was not raised in a church going family but always felt Jesus tugging at my soul. I didn’t understand the difference between Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, etc… The first church I attended and got baptized at was the Seventh Day Adventist. A number of years later I was baptized again at the Church of Christ as they would not accept my previous baptism. A number of years later I was baptized a third time at a Southern Baptist church as they would not accept either of the two previous baptisms. All three baptisms were done correctly in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Although I met many wonderfully faith filled people at these churches, something always felt amiss. I have spent the last seven or eight years researching church history, praying for proper discernment and at various times trying to quell that deep planted desire to the Catholic faith.

Through my various plights in the Protestant church I was lead to believe many false claims about Catholicism. Through prayer and my own research into church history I can no longer push back God’s will in my life. Oh, if only my fellow Protestant brothers and sisters would look beyond the surface of the arguments against Christ’s instituted church, and through much prayer and true understanding, and through the example of solid Catholic teaching they could do no other but to be called home.

Please pray for me that I will approach the church in true humility and humbleness of heart. I desire so much to be united with Christ in the Eucharist, and to be in full communion with the saints of God’s church. I look with great desire that moment when I can be a part of the church universal.

Dear Lord, I praise You for the seeds that You have planted in this, Your child’s heart. Nurture those seeds and allow them to grow and blossom into a might tree of faith. Guide this person in their journey into Your Holy Church. In Jesus name we pray.
 
We ask for St Augustine’s aid, patron of converts who was such a strong influence on my own conversion, to guide SeekingTruths home to Christ’s family.

Merciful Lord, You alone have called to the heart of the simple seeker of truth. Your Purity appeals to the spirit which You have created. Though many claim to know the way, only You, O Lord, reveal the fulness of Your Mercy and Love. From all eternity You conceived of SeekingTruths as an irreplaceable part of Your Divine plan. You sent your Guardian Angel to defend this soul against the evil ones who roam this earth. It is You, Father, Who brought the same soul to Your doorstep. In Your Divine Mercy, answer the knocking that is the seeking heart that You have patiently waited for. You love this soul so much that You sent, even gave Your Only Son as SeekingTruths’ eternal redemption. Gracious Lord, we praise Your Holy Name for Your mercy and kindness. Lead SeekingTruths to the faith which is without limits, to the complete revelation of Your Divine Truth. We ask this through Christ, our Risen Lord and Savior, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen! Alleluia!
 
Thank you so much for your prayers. I am very excited to begin RCIA this year. I will no longer resist the desire planted in me to be received into the fullness of faith.

From a cradle catholic, we all go through this process too, years of teching before we can receive all the sacraments, so you are not alone 🙂 . Always remember this, The Church is like a mother to us and she is raising the children of God. Not an easy job, she is both loving and diciplinary like all mothers, but is all because of love. Be patient and obedient like a good child, because this is a BIG family and just one mother. Be sure to get a good confessor that will guide you well and answer all your questions properly. I am sooooo happy for you, the church is such an inmense treasure that you will be so enriched with.

Once again I want to thank everyone for your prayers and encouragement. Although I had not posted here this forum has been a great aid in my discerment to the Catholic faith for almost two years.

Thank you for sharing this point. When we post, many are the eyes that read and, like Mary, reflect on these things in their hearts. The Lord sees that good is done in the fulness of time.

As someone who has just been received into full communion with the church this easter i pray for you that you will grow in strength and love, i know too well the confusion in life that can often hinder you in coming home but i pray that you will be strong and at last come home.
