If you would, please pray for my daughter. She is in college and having a difficult time because a relationship that she thought was solid (as did I and everyone else) has come to an abrupt end. She is heartbroken, and I for her as well.

Please pray that she will find the strength to get through this time and that God will show her what He knows to be best for her as well as the young man involved. Pray too that this young man will seek help for any problems that have caused their breakup.

She has asked me to request your prayers for them as she is having a tough time dealing with this. Thank you so much.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

**I have been there. **I lost my share of girls.
**I lost one when we were **
planning the wedding.
I will pray…

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Irishmom, my heart aches for you as I read your post. I feel your anguish! My daughter has been where yours has been. It was a heart-wrenching few years while my daughter had two relationships with boys in college that went wrong - one horribly bad. Oh, God watching your child stumble and lurch through life can be more painful than anything that can happen to one’s self!

But thanks be to God that our Father in Heaven and our Blessed Mother can share our pain and know our heartbreak! They watched Their Son endure His sufferings even unto death. Gold is tested in fire, and may God find you and your daughter shiny and pure as He leads you both through these difficult times. My daughter has made it through those times and I pray yours will too.

Lord, please send your Holy Spirit to Irishmom2’s daughter and comfort her and give her strength and peace. Please heal her broken heart and help her boyfriend to solve the problems he has. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers. I know that her knowing that others are praying for her will help feel a sense of peace and hope.

She is still having a rough time and we spent hours texting yesterday. It is so difficult to know what to say sometimes when there is nothing you can say that will change anything.

I know that in time she will heal, but she can’t see that now and she keeps telling me how sad she feels. And even when she does feel better, we all know that she will still never be the same. Better perhaps, but with just a piece of her lost. (Her own words.)

Please keep her in your prayers, and me too, to find the words to comfort her.

Dear Jesus, you know how it feels to be abandoned by people You loved, please comfort Irishmom2’s daughter and surround her with an awareness of Your pure love. Please help her ex-boyfriend to resolve whatever issue so troubled him that he chose to leave, and bring healing and comfort to all involved. Amen.

Continued thanks for continued prayers. 🙂 My daughter said to thank everyone too.
May God bless her and guide her to better days.

Your prayers have been powerful, thanks be to God!

I wish I could say that everything is okay, but it is not. However, I know that all of your prayers have helped somewhat. My daughter seems to have turned a corner and though she still wants things to be the way they were, she has lost some of the feeling of dread she first had. She is just trying to get through each day.

I know there are people with bigger problems, health issues, family issues. The list multiplies each hour it seems, and yet, I still ask for your continued prayers. I am only a mom wanting her daughter to be happy.

It’s always inspirational to see the results of answered prayer.

:blessyou:

Continuing prayers …

I drove out to see my daughter yesterday. We spent 7 hours together walking in the city, shopping a bit, getting a bite to eat…

Pretty much the whole time, we talked about her friend. As she talked more, I was struck by how truly intelligent, intuitive and faith filled my beautiful daughter is. After hearing what she was saying, I have to say that I came away agreeing with her.

For two years, these two had a most incredible relationship. They have been there for each other through health issues, the sudden loss of a college friend, family issues on both sides, school decisions and commitments and a most spectacular semester abroad together. She is correct to know that they were good together. They communicate better and talk over any arguments better than most married couples I know, myself included. They shared interests, intelligence and were SO devoted to each other–not a one way street, I saw it from him as well. My family loved him like a member of our family and his family welcomed my daughter in as well. We all knew where this was headed one day.

My daughter made an appointment to talk to a counselor for Friday. She is desperately hoping her boyfriend will continue to go to his own appointment, as he had one last week. She is in so much pain, and does not know how to cope with the loss and more importantly, the unanswered questions. She feels she cannot move forward without answers.

She truly believes (and I have to admit, I do too) that this is not over yet. But he has to get help understanding what happened. He just shut down and shut her and everyone that asks him about it out.

PLEASE pray for this young man especially, that God will guide him to peace and to be able to handle his stresses in a way that will allow him to live his life smoothly and that he can include my daughter in it as he once did.

Thanks to all of you for continued prayer support, it is comforting to feel that we are not alone praying. As I gave her a hug when I was leaving, she asked me to come here again and ask for your prayers. It broke my heart in a way.

We’ll continue to pray.

Holy Spirit, please bring comfort and clarity to this young man. Let him know that there is no problem too great for you to solve if only he is willing to let you work in his life. Please keep him open to using all the aids You provide: from counselling to simply sharing with someone who cares. Give him the gift of Your peace…

Thank you for staying close to the families involved, for comforting them and giving them Your strength.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
