Things are taking a different direction than I originally anticipated. As it turns out I will not be able to visit the Franciscan friars of the renewal this summer. I am heartbroken over this, and I will admit I am feeling a lot of doubts right now. questioning whether or not this whole thing was a folly of spiritual pride, or if I am called or if I am called here or somewhere else. I know one thing that was recommended to me by one of the friars I spoke with was the Madonna house. I do not know much about them but I intend to do some research but tonight I need to pray, I need to pray for clarity and direction. My Lord has not abandoned me but have I abandoned him by desiring something that was not his will for me? your prayers are appreciated and I thank you all for your support.

Well now, it’s Thursday, Gabriel Syme. 🙂

It’s also the feast day of St. Thomas the Apostle, aka “Doubting Thomas” … who then came to be the believing apostle crying out, “My Lord and my God!”

Here are some Bible verses for you from today’s Liturgy of the Hours website:

Mid-morning reading (Terce) 2 Corinthians 5:19 - 20 ©
God has entrusted to us the news of reconciliation. So we are ambassadors for Christ; it is as though God were appealing through us, and the appeal that we make in Christ’s name is: be reconciled to God.

Noon reading (Sext) Acts 5:12 - 14 ©
Many signs and wonders were worked among the people at the hands of the apostles and the numbers of men and women who came to believe in the Lord increased steadily.

Afternoon reading (None) Acts 5:41 - 42 ©
The apostles left the presence of the Sanhedrin glad to have had the honour of suffering humiliation for the sake of the name. They preached every day both in the Temple and in private houses, and their proclamation of the Good News of Christ Jesus was never interrupted.

Prayers for you,

~~ the phoenix
