Pray For Our Iraqi Catholic Brothers and Sisters-58 Murdered During Mass Yesterday

Lord please hear our prayers for our brothers and sisters including the preist who were killed in such shocking circumstances during Holy Mass in Iraq.We all mourn the sudden and tragic loss of their lives in such a violent manner.Please grant their souls eternal life with You and forgive them any sins.Please comfor their loved ones who will mourn their loss with such shock and pain.Please grant they will feel Your love for them in thier grief and that they will know the love of all their brothers and sisters all over the world.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers Amen

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
If Thou, O Lord, shalt observe iniquities; Lord, who shall endure it?
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness:
and by reason of Thy law, I have waited for Thee, O Lord.
My soul hath relied on His word; my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
Because with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him plentiful redemption.

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins, that through our pious supplication they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired; who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

May God be with the families and friends of the victims at this sorrowful time. May the wounded survivors make full and speedy recoveries. May He calm the fears of Christians in Iraq, as this must be a particularly fightening time for them. May He show mercy to the violent and sick souls who engaged in this hateful slaughter of innocents. And may God bring peace and understanding to this war torn land so that all Iraqis regardless of their faiths may live together in an environment of peace and mutual respect. Amen.

By Thy resurrection from the dead, O Christ, death no longer has dominion over those who die in holiness. So, we beseech Thee, give rest to Thy servants in Thy sanctuary and in Abraham’s bosom. Grant it to those, who from Adam until now have adored Thee with purity, to our fathers and brothers, to our kinsmen and friends, to all men who have lived by faith and passed on their road to Thee, by a thousand ways, and in all conditions, and make them worthy of the heavenly kingdom. Amen.
 
A wonderful & thoughtful thread.

But surely all these Iraqis are blood martyrs for their faith (i.e. they were killed because of their religion) so they were immediately received into Heaven. They do not pass thru Purgatory and are already glorified. Isn’t this Church teaching? So why are we praying for them? Prayers for the families & children left behind are most helpful. Perhaps that is what is meant?

I should expect they will/should be declared Saints and Martyrs shortly.
