but i believe, most of them are deceived by things like human trafficking, which is very inhumane and damned thing! so, most of them is absolutely never willing to do that

I’ve never met a little girl who says “when I grow up, I wanna be a porn star!”. While modern entertainment devices feature the empowered sex worker, that is almost never the actual situation. These men and women are exploited, trafficked, abused and dehumanized. We need to work to build a world where no person is ever put into that sort of life.

“Have mercy on us and on the whole world” or “Lord, I pray that every person will know the peace and love that flows from you”. We can pray for everyone, anytime.

After the initial extremely immature and wrong “Whoa this is cool” wears off, you begin to realize the unbelievable sadness and sin that is all consuming. These poor people are someone’s sons and daughters. They were once having 5 year old birthday parties and now they are engaged in this activity. They are human beings which is seemingly not thought about while others simply watch them for their own selfish enjoyment. They need our prayers as do all the people that seek enjoyment in their destruction.

I think these people should be prayed for period. No qualifiers. Also a mistake I see on here, and I will assume unintentional, and only made by a few posters, is the insinuation that this just includes women.

I know there’s a bunch of shadowy stuff on the internet, but are we saying that underlying much of the legal / “mainstream” porn is illegal activity (trafficking, for example)? If so I have a whole new abhorrence for it. (Although any kind of porn in turn contributes to such vices in society – rape, etc.).

I am fully aware that my position might seem cold.

Too bad.

I’ll have to post a bit more later. As time allows…

Since when is porn a “female only” activity? I see very little of these sentiments for the MEN who sleep with a thousand women, and no one on this board can make the claim that these men were “forced into it” (in part since such claim would be bogus anyway).

Just sayin…

And to recap, if we are talking of women, not men, we’re not talking about some woman who engages in prostitution to feed her kids; we’re talking about the women to whom porn is a vehicle to fund massive cosmetic surgery; sports cars, and a lifestyle 1000% different than the people posting here.

Further, all you anti-shaming folks: how many of you can honestly say you wouldn’t scream to the school board if, say, your own kid’s kindergarten teacher turned out to have done two dozen hardcore porn films. My guess is you all would.

I don’t think most women choose porn because they are bad. I think many are ashamed and they do not enjoy it. I don’t think there is anything fun about doing porn, and it’s painful for many of the women physically. We don’t know how they got there and it’s not our place to judge. Some may be victims of trafficking or turn to it as a last resort

The question referenced “porn stars.” I made clear that is whom I was referring to.

I’m sorry, a LOT of posters - in fact pretty much all of them - are repeating the fiction that no porn stars do this deliberately or out of desire. That is in reality fiction: many do precisely that.

Certainly not everyone is forced into it (no idea what percentage). But that’s the trouble with sin, freely chosen – it turns our freedom into slavery (‘whoever sins is a slave of sin,’ as the Lord said in John). I can’t help but have some degree of pity for those entrapped in sin, as the Lord took pity on the woman caught in adultery. Thank God He took pity on me (because I deserved hell)!

Really? I don’t see where anyone said “none,” much less “pretty much all” of the posters.

None of this is to say that it’s moral to produce one’s own porn, but we need to remember that not everyone is motivated by desperation or greed.
I think people are starting from the assumption that having sex or exposing yourself on camera isn’t something a psychologically healthy person finds appealing, at least for a mass audience as opposed to a single intimate partner. So even if the person isn’t driven by desperation, they’re driven by some tick of their psychology, perhaps linked to some underlying trauma.

Of course, I’m sure many of the people who perform in porn would swear up and down that they’re perfectly fine, they just enjoy it. I‘m certainly not qualified to psychoanalyze anyone, but I think thats at least the premise people are starting from: something must be off.

I honestly don’t see why it would matter. I don’t think appearing in porn films would affect somebody’s ability to be a kindergarten teacher. Where I could see it being a problem would be somebody teaching older kids who would quite possibly, thanks to the internet, find out that their teacher had appeared in porn films and find them and watch them. It would probably be somewhat difficult to maintain their professional status if their students had seen them in porn. But at kindergarten level the kids are not going to know or understand this.

I certainly can’t easily get inside the mindset of somebody who would think that this is a good choice in life. I don’t think it’s something I’d want my family and friends to know that I was doing. Whether it’s actually mentally abnormal, I wouldn’t know.

Well, what’s “normal?” Whatever everyone else does? I don’t know if I agree or disagree; I just think that lots of people, whether through lack of a moral compass, lack of shame, or anything else, would happily perform in porn if offered enough money. Heck, I think a lot of people would do an awful lot of bad things if offered enough money. Does that make them mentally defective? I don’t know, but I doubt it, any more than it’s defective any time someone makes awful moral choices.
