And, I know you know this too…but you choose to purpousfully misunderstand me.
Wow, this sounds familiar. Sort of like when you tell us we worship Mary. You choose to purposefully misunderstand us.

Carry on…

Right now I am reading “True Devotion to Mary” by St. Louis de Montfort. I highly recommend this read. It has totally changed my perception of the role of Mary in our Salvation. She is truly the Mediatrix of all graces. If you want a good definition of what that means check this out.

I showed you very clearly from scripture that prayer is a sacrifice…what you choose to do is reject that Word. Praise, thanksgiving…SPIRITUAL SACRIFICES.

1 Peter 2:5 KJV 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

But you do not care to study anything about that nor accept the message from it (scripture).

Sacrifice is worship.

I have a common saying that I proclaim frequently…To Jesus through the Word of God. Your boldfaced comments above are also not applicable and an attempt to ignore a serious problem.
I’m not ignoring a thing Link. It’s just that I’ve had 33 years of being Catholic to ponder and digest every argument everyone’s ever tried to throw at me about why we worship Mary. Yours are not remotely new to me.

I have absolutely no problem, I know what worship is due to God and what respect, love and honour is due to those whom Christ so deeply respected, loved and honoured. He commanded us to ‘love one another as (ie to the same degree that) I have loved you’.

He loved Mary enough that, as she herself said, ‘the almighty works marvels (miracles) for me’. And so he did - the miracle of Cana was at her request.

He gave her, along with the Apostles, the fulness of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. They, in his name, performed miracles during their time on Earth. I find ludicrous the idea of God as some sort of Indian-giver who takes back the power and authority he so generously allowed to her and them. It is illogical.

I will be praying for you.
I’ll pray for you - to Mary and Christ our Lord - that you come to know, honour and love her as fully He does, and as countless saintly Christians have done through the centuries

Link, my friend. Yes, Worship involves Sacrfice. But where does it say our prayers are sacrfices. Our prayers are petitions. Our prayers are Thanksgivings.

I have consecrated myself to Jesus through Mary and after that experience felt more close to God then I have ever felt. I recommend doing this by using the formula Saint Louis de Montfort used. This consecration has changed my life so much that I have recently developed a web site dedicated to this consecration. Please feel free to go here. Also, if anyone goes to this site, please send me a note to tell me what you think of it and if there is any thing I should add to make it better. You can send me a note by going to the contact section. THANKS!!!

God Bless!

To all that have criticized the encouragement of building a relationship with Mary, Jesus’ Mother, I will pray for you. I also pray that the world will gain better knowledge of this gift (the ability to build a relationship with Mary) God has given us. I suggest all Catholics also do this.

What is difficult for you is that you have no scriptural basis for your practice but only have philisophical opinions that have no biblical basis. Then, on top of that, you ridicule me by saying…

***In re: your little saying?? Hello!!!Jesus is the Word of God!! ***

You might wanta try to remember that. Like say, when you’re sacrificing your spare time to work extra hours to buy a new Bible.
Wouldn’t want anybody thinking you were worshipping or sacrificing to your Bible…

I am very aware that Jesus IS the Word of God but the Word of God, in the OT and NT proclaim Christ. And, I know you know this too…but you choose to purpousfully misunderstand me.
Pot, meet kettle???
Nay, I dinnae misunderstand you, laddie…I understand you all too well…
I have seen thishttp://bestsmileys.com/sad/10.gif sort of thing before…It all comes ofhttp://bestsmileys.com/sad/10.gif disliking Mary, http://bestsmileys.com/sad/10.gif more than you love Jesus…http://bestsmileys.com/sad/6.gif

Let me just hit you straight and square between the eyes on this one…

Deny this scripture…

Psalms 116:17 KJV 17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

A spiritual sacrifice just as the the others are in the posting that I placed before.

Respond with your list of spiritual sacrifices.

Dear all friends, pray for me —> no problem?
Dear Mother Mary, pray for me ----> idolatry?

They are the same.

Oh more thing. Show me in Scripture that men and women who died in Christ are dead?

Link, it’s not enough just to quote that line. To make your point you’ve got to show that all thanksgiving = sacrifice, and/or that all sacrifice = thanskgiving, and/or that sacrifice and/or thanksgiving necessarily = worship.

A mother sacrifices to her children all the time - she sacrifices her time, her energy, her money to support them … so does a wife to her husband. Does that mean she idolises them, thinks they are God, worships them or prays to them? None of the above.
