The purpose of my original post was to fill an apparent deficiency in the pictorial example you posted - the grammatical inflection present and required in Church Slavonic was omitted (it is also present in the Greek standard); I was also uncertain of your example since the contraction of “святая” is unusual and incorrect.
The relative absence of grammatical inflection in English does allow for the use of (complementary) variants such as servant and handmaiden. It would also, presumably, allow the use of ‘manservant’ and some other feminine equivalent, but that would seem to be overly archaic and ponderous. The choice of word in any liturgical translation is usually decided by groups and committees appointed by the Church or Churches, hopefully with good and adequate knowledge and understanding. Regrettably there is little standardisation at present.
