St. Charles Borromeo, pray for seminarians!

St. Gabriel Possenti, pray for seminarians!

Guardian angels, pray for the young men under your care who are training for the priesthood.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on them!

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for them!

St. Joseph, pray for our seminarians.

    *who brought forth the Son of God, still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity.
  • O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.*
    *O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, **we humbly ask you from
    the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. **There are none who can

Enlighten the Bishop in the choice of candidates, the Spiritual Director in molding them, and the professors in instructing them.

Lead the seminarians daily in Your unerring footsteps; so that they may become priests who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom and heroes of sacrifice; steeped in humility and aflame with love for God and man; apostles of Your glory and sanctifiers of souls.

Amen.

Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us.

We praise you, merciful Father, for sending your Son into the world to free us from sin, and enrich us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. To continue his mission he sent his apostles, the bearers of his love, to proclaim the Gospel to all peoples and offer believers new life through Baptism and the Eucharist.

Look kindly, Lord, on the men who train for the priesthood, especially in the mission churches. Inspire them with perseverance and courage so that they may reach their goal of ordination and continue the work of the apostles in today’s world.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Lord, enable these future priests to have a personality that is honest, and rich in virtue, in the semblance of Jesus Christ. Enable them to be men of God, and like Jesus, men for others.Instill in their hearts a real love for the Divine Word, for the Eucharist and for prayer, for the Church and for the doctrine of salvation that she preserves and faithfully proclaims.
Enable them, finally, in preparation for their future ministry, to be more holy every day. Amen.
