O Lord, Holy Father, omnipotent and eternal God, I give You thanks and I bless Your holy name. I know I’m a poor miserable sinner but hear a cause that is just, pay heed to my cry, turn your ear to my prayer, no deceit is on my lips. Amen

Loving God,

I lift up intentions today on behalf of Dan, a son of family friends, who was doing so well until recently when he has fell hard back into the grasp of the evil one. Please bless, have mercy, and strengthen Dan as he walks the journey of life. Please help this fall, and this time in jail, be the motivation he needs to turn his life around. Lord, Dan has now been released and is living in a halfway house. Please help him to walk the narrow path and respond to your guidance in his life. Please help all who minister to and coach Dan to be the witnesses he needs to make the changes in his life with your unconditional love and the call of your Holy Spirit leading the way.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, the Good Shepherd of your people.

Father, for love of Jesus, please flood Your healing grace upon Dan, that he will accept the healing and new life that You are offering him. Please help him to persevere and to live a wholesome, happy, faith-filled life. I ask the fullness of life in You for his family and friends.

Father we ask Your powerful healing, in the name of Your beloved Son, for all who suffer with addiction, and for their families.
Please protect others from being drawn into addiction with them.

Father, in Jesus’ name, please help all those who are struggling with addiction.
Father forgive and heal them.
Please urge them to avoid occasions of sin, each time temptation arises.
Please lead them to activities that honour You and benefit others and their own well-being.
Please give them strength to resist to temptations against gospel living.
Please surround their lives with Your light and love.

I suffer from an addiction to cigarettes and other smokable forms tobacco. I have been trying to quit for some time now but have been unsuccessful thus far.
