Hey everyone. I have a friend who was born Catholic, but into a family where she never received formal instruction in the faith. She isn’t even sure if she was baptized. She fell in love with Jesus earlier this year, and wants to learn more about her faith, but currently has a lot of views that are gravely contrary to the teachings of the Church, simply because she doesn’t know any better. The opportunity for my mentioning of RCIA came up, and right now she doesn’t want to, but I’m praying for her and for her total conversion.

If you all could please say a prayer for her, I would really appreciate it. I care about her, and I’m doing all I can for her prayer-wise and to be there to answer questions as she asks them, but it’s really difficult, and I feel so inadequate. I’ve been going to mass everyday, doing the rosary, the chaplet and novenas, and am trying to grow more deeply in my faith and to learn more about the Church myself, hoping that I can offer up my continued conversion for hers.

If any of you could unite your prayers with mine, I would really appreciate it. I don’t want to share her real name, but I’ll go ahead and call her Mary for the sake of giving her a name. Thanks everyone, and God Bless!

Our Lady of Fatima taught a beautiful prayer for when we make of everything a sacrifice: O my Jesus, I offer this up to You, for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

Keep praying as I will too.
Please, Lord Jesus, lead Mary to the Fullness of Your Holy Catholic Church, Amen.

How generous of God to bless you both in this way! In your love, concern, and prayer for your friend, God is also calling you deeper into His life!
God grant your prayers for your friend. Your love and efforts are the best witness to her!

Welcome to the forums PW25, Will keep your friend in my prayers…

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it. Things have gotten a lot better. She’s learning a lot, has already given some stuff up after learning that they’re not compatible with the faith and is going to go through with RCIA.

Please continue to pray for both of us. The road to my friend’s conversion is still a long one, and I feel like I’ve been under a lot of spiritual attack lately, as I’ve had a hard time continuing my prayers. I want to keep up the praying and to continue to go to mass daily, so please pray that the Lord will give me the strength to do that.

Thanks again!

God bless you for the help and support you’re giving your friend. 🙂
You will both remain in my prayers.

Praying for your friend.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

I didn’t catch this reply until just now. That’s a beautiful prayer 🙂

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen
