The term, “quietism”, can be used to describe so many of us christians in today’s society. When we watch evil take place all around us and not step out to contradict it, this is quietism. Quietism is contrary to charity, telling us not to share the most beautiful gift we have, our Catholic faith. Many people could be easily touched for salvation if we would only speak up. Try it next time you see a offensive picture in a store or hear someone take God’s name in vain, etc. Recall 👍 Rev. 3:15-16, regarding Jesus, spewing us out of his mouth, if we are “lukewarm”. The Holy Spirt will give you the boldness you will need at the time you need it. Yes, that means first our lives must be conformed to God and all his commandments. But just remember that scripture says if you help save one soul, you save your own.

ponco I feel the way you feel sometimes. The last time I walked in a block buster I got so angry I wanted to push all the shelves down because all of the garbage around the perimeter that is exposed to little chiuldren and all for that matter- soft porn, horror, and just plane o trash. That was about three months ago and I am boycotting block buster for it. I seen a couple of innicent little girls picking some of these movies up and looking at them. It just hurts me to think we allow such innicent children to be exposed to such evil and then wonder why our children have problems grwing up. This is only one of many issues I have. I do beleive that if there were not so many look warm Catholics we would be doing a better job at keep the worlds evils at bay. rev. 3:15,17 is my favorite verse, scary for some but it helps me to realize4 that God wants us to be on fire for him and there is a war out there and were right in the middle of it. Satans greatest trick was that he has fooled many of us in to beleiving he is not real so why should we be hot or care about what others are doing. That kind of thinking is eroneous. I definitly pray this prayer with you that Catholics would become more hot in there faith and have the same zeal that the enemy does. At the same time there are many Catholics at catholic answers, EWTN and around the nation who are fighting for us and doing a great job! People like Father John Caropi, Christopher West, Mother Angelica and so many more modern day saints are spreading the goods news and lighting the fire of truth. God bless you poncho.

Praying for that holy boldness that is so desperately needed.

Merciful Lord of all creation, look with great love upon your pilgrim church, inspiring in us the strength and courage to boldly proclaim you message to the world. Grant us an increased outpouring of Your Holy Spirit, that we may speak truth to the fallen world which surrounds us. May we, with Your blessing, deny ourselves and counter the evil which pervades the kingdom of the evil one. Since You, O Giver of all life, cherished us to the point of sacrificing Your Son. May we reflect on the Heavenly love that inspired that sacrifice and allow it to goad us into action. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.

I totally agree with you. Praying for decency to overcome the evil that exists in our society today.
