I’ve always been one not to trust. From infomercials to magic tricks I’ve always been skeptical and unfortunately, that part of my personality comes into my spiritual life and it’s not helping! Couple that with my recurring episodes of Scrupulocity (which are because of my hesitation to trust in God’s Mercy!) and you’ve got one worried Catholic.
Part of the scruples is a lack of trust in God’s Mercy and Forgiveness as you have rightly said.

Don’t worry, just pray for God to deepen your trust in Him and carry on being the good Catholic you are. Everything always turns out right in the end, it’s just the struggle getting there and we are all just trying to get there.

Jesus loves you as you are.

Pray, persevere, wait and believe that what you ask God for you will receive.

In my prayers.

I just can’t “connect” like I’ve been able to in the past. I don’t know what to say, and I just feel like I’m repeating myself. The Scriptures are really my main interest lately. I love studying the Word and applying it, but I have trouble now during spontaneous prayer. Do I need to listen more instead of talking to God? What’s wrong?
It’s probably that the Lord want’s you more in the Scriptures now.
Don’t fight it, use the Scriptures as your prayer.

When you read a piece of Scripture that touches you in some way, gently close your eyes and meditate on that verse.
Stay as long as you want in meditation.

Don’t fight it, be gentle with yourself. Prayer is not an action of ambitious work with an end goal.

BTW, St. Theresa of Lisieux, use to get very bored with prayer, so much so she’d fall asleep. 🙂

Everyone who prays goes through this, know that you’re not alone!

In Christ

About being scared… I love these words from our new Pope during his inaugural Mass. I hope it helps!
Are we not perhaps all afraid in some way? If we let Christ enter fully into our lives, if we open ourselves totally to Him, are we not afraid that He might take something away from us? Are we not perhaps afraid to give up something significant, something unique, something that makes life so beautiful? Do we not then risk ending up diminished and deprived of our freedom? And once again the Pope said: No! If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Only in this friendship do we experience beauty and liberation. And so, today, with great strength and great conviction, on the basis of long personal experience of life, I say to you, dear young people: Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and He gives you everything. When we give ourselves to Him, we receive a hundred-fold in return. Yes, open, open wide the doors to Christ - and you will find true life. Amen."
