Please keep me in your prayers as I struggle through where God is leading me. I thought he wanted me to work for a little while in my hometown, a very rural town in BC that has a lot of darkness (addiction, abuse, etc). There is not a lot of happiness in this place. A few people from my church and another have banded together to form a Prayer Warrior group to pray for the healing of this town.

Most days I love my job - I love being a nurse. I’m still a fairly new nurse (just a year and a half in), so I have many struggles as I learn how to do things in a quick and often understaffed environment. However, some days I really struggle with my job. Sometimes I don’t understand the political dynamics, and also because I am very sensitive, I take to heart when someone snaps at me.

I am currently struggling with an ethical issue where I feel like I have to find elsewhere to work (which in a town this small, means I would have to move somewhere else), or choose between my faith.

I am also discerning a religious life, which brings me much joy and peace, but lately has been getting gobbled up in the chaos of my work life.

I have a feeling I have some big decisions ahead of me. If I choose to stay in my current work (which means working in an ER at times and what moral issues this will bring me), then I feel like I would lose support from some of the higher ups at Church. If I choose to do what they are asking of me, I would face losing my job and the end of my career.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom in your time of need.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

:signofcross: Heavenly Father, we pray for wisdom, guidance, discernment and strength for CanadianNurse; use her nursing skills to help heal and minister to those in need; protect her from pressures on all sides that would cause her to compromise her Catholic values; and surround her with your grace, your compassion and your peace!!!

I pray for Canadian Nurse that she always stands up for what is moral and right. I pray for the understanding of her supervisor that her religious convictions will be understood and never ever as a nurse be asked to violate these. I pray for her inner peace that she will have as she upholds her Catholic values and also her Nightingale pledge. Dear Mother Mary please come to her assistance with your love and tenderness. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
amen

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular canadiannurse, and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Praying for you. I can tell it’s a struggle…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

Thank you all for my prayers. I apologize for my vagueness! I went to confession tonight to discuss this with my priest, and he is right… there is no easy answer to my work situation.

Perhaps this is part of my discernment. My work situation is such a mess and the thought of having to sell my little house and move somewhere else where I might face the exact same problem, is terrifying. But I have found an Order I really love, and met some of the sisters at the Rise Up conference in Calgary (similar to the US’s Seek conference)… in fact my work situation makes me want to run right into the arms of Christ. Perhaps this is my sign. I hope you all keep me in your prayers as I work through this… thank you.

Praying that the Lord may guide you and strengthen you with all necessary graces.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Praying for God’s guidance in your life as you find the path He has planned for you.

Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen
