Prayer request for my student and her loved ones (WARNING: HIGHLY SENSITIVE TOPIC)

Aidan was on the stand a couple of days ago. He did very well, answering the questions to the point, keeping his voice even, and most importantly, keeping his temper under control. You could easily see that his eyes were burning with anger. However, he did say something to Bobby that made the defense attorney angry. Aidan told him after the judge dismissed him, “May God forgive you, you evil (censored). I hope you die of AIDS once the other prisoners finish with you, you bastard.” The judge let him off with a warning though. Yeah, the judge is a decent man, he respects the law, but I think he known in his heart of hearts that Bobby is guilty. As a Christian, I know he should not have sunk to this level. As a flawed human being, I can sympathize with this boy. I’d probably say the same thing if my wife were the victim.

Aidan’s mother also did very well, and she said something similar at the end of her testimony. “It takes a special degree of evil to do what you did to this poor girl. It takes an even higher degree for her mother to just slow it happen. But, I will pray for you. When you get to prison, I will pray that you use this time to repent for your crime. You’ve lost the right to walk the streets without being branded for what you are, but your soul may still be saved.”
 
Turns out that I was wrong. The defense has no witnesses. There are a few more witnesses for the prosecution to cross-examine, then the jury will deliberate. God willing, before we enter November, this dark chapter in Chloe’s life will be over. Bobby will be in prison and so will Elaine, God willing. For then on, I pray that Chloe experience nothing but happiness; that James and Hannah will be the caring, loving, supportive parents that she deserves and that Aidan will provide her nothing but the deepest love, comfort, happiness, and safety, and eventually they will end up marrying (as I and others truly believe they will) and starting a family of their own. And again, I hope Bobby finds redemption in prison.

On Monday, Bobby was called to the stand and he just fessed up to everything. I hear he kept his tone even and barely even blinked. I wish I was there to see it. Anyway, the jury went into deliberations and today, they read the verdict: guilty on all charges.

Has he, or will he be sentenced?

Bobby decided that he just wants to get the sentencing over with. He got 85 years, eligible for parole in 60. The judge is a genius. Found out today on the way to lunch. Chloe was crying in Aidan’s arms, so I asked if everything was okay. Aidan told me.We can only hope her road to recovery will be easier.

I’d say late forties. Definitely not younger than 45. Like I said, the judge is a genius. He got 60 years for rape, twenty for aggravated assault and battery, and five for aggravated sexual assault. Sentences are to be served consecutively. Chloe’s mother is on trial now, but I don’t have any information and i won’t press James. All I know is that they have a restraining order on her.
