Prayer request of my CAF friends

I know there is a separate prayer intentions forum, but most of my Catholic and non-catholic friends are here. So, I ask for your prayers for my 14 yr old niece, Lauren, who was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s. She is a wonderful, bright young girl.

Praying for your nieces fast and complete recovery and, until then, that she be cradled in the warm embrace of Jesus Christ. Praying also for your family, for your spiritual strength and physical wellbeing in order to support and encourage your niece during her illness. In Jesus name.

Jon, I’m visiting from the Prayer Intentions forum.

I’ll keep your niece Lauren in my prayers and Masses. That diagnosis is a big challenge for a young girl and for your family.
I ask God to help her remain “a wonderful, bright young girl” as she adapts to her illness.

Jesus please be with her to comfort and encourage her.

Jon, I will pray for her. I have been informed by a psychiatrist I consult with that research has revealed an alteration in one or two genes that make up an enzyme that breaks down folic acid can prevent the body and brain from abosorbing the necessary folic acid that is critical for healthy cell development and the production of neurotransmitters. A person who has this altered gene will be more sensitive to environmental stress.
A simple blood test will discover if she has this altered gene.
The test is MTHFR polymorhpism. If there is an altered gene the treatment given is a nutritional prescription for l-methylfolate. The brand name is Deplin.

Just an update. I received a good report today, that she is gaining weight again. This is quite important in that she had lost so much weight. God bless everyone of you, my friends, for your prayers.

Thanks for the great news! God bless Lauren. I just absolutely have great difficulty when I hear about children suffering.
