Update on adoption of granddaughters-
We have been assigned a guardian ad litem. GAL is coming to our house on Sept. 17th. The GAL’s opinion counts heavily with the court. The GAL interview is the last step before making this official.
We also have a housing issue (which is why you haven’t seen much of me). This house was fine for two empty-nesters who both worked full time jobs and had a yard man. It is lousy for retread parents, between the high taxes on this side of town and the mowing of the HUGE oversized lot (the girls are obviously too small to work a mower

). DH is for selling the place, but feels I should be doing most of the work to get it ready. His last excuse was that he is 2 1/2 years older than I am, and he might hurt his back and then where would we be financially? He’s a professor, and works mostly for online universities. If he doesn’t help, it is going to take me into late September- not the best time to sell a house in Chicagoland.
So, we need prayers for:
1.) The guardian ad litem to be clear-headed and see that our family needs to stay together, and that this is the best place for the girls.
2.) That my DH starts really participating in getting this house ready for sale, because I simply can’t do it alone, and can’t afford to have anybody come in to help me.
3.) That we can find another place to live with more room, smaller monthly expenditure and less of a yard (much less if you asked me, but I will take what the Lord provides).
I am still praying for this list. I do so daily.
