Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

to comfort and succor all prisoners.
Give them a right understanding of themselves,
and of thy warnings and promises,
that they may put their confidence in thee,

Relieve the distressed,
protect the innocent,
and awaken the guilty.

And,
forasmuch as thou alone canst bring light out of darkness,
and good out of evil,
grant that thou grace may impel the guilty to seek that only redeemer who can free their souls from the chains of sin;

Lord, you offer freedom to all people.
We pray for all who are incarcerated
and for those who are affected by
or involved in their imprisonment.
Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist.
Support with your love, prisoners,
their families, friends,
prison staff and all who care.
Heal those who have been wounded by the activities of others,
especially the victims of crime.
Help us to forgive one another,
to act justly,
love mercy
and walk humbly together with Christ,
in his strength and his spirit,
now and every day.

Prayer for Prisoners

Father of Mercy, the secrets of all hearts are known to You alone. You know who is just and you forgive the unjust. You alone are the Almighty Judge. We are not worthy of judging anyone. Your mercy is enough for sinners. Hear our prayers for those in prison. Give them repentance and let them believe in You. Give them patience and hope in their sufferings, and bring them home again soon. Comfort their near and dear ones. Let them trust in Jesus Christ and live with hope. Amen.

Father, I pray that I may become useful and helpful and kind to those around me, tenderhearted, forgiving others readily and freely, as You, Father, in Christ forgave me my sins.
It is my desire to be an imitator of You, Lord. With the Holy Spirit as my Helper, I will copy You and follow Your example, as a well-beloved child imitates his/her father. I purpose to walk in love esteeming and delighting in others, as Christ loves me. As I attend to Your Word, I depend on Your Holy Spirit to teach me to live a life of victory in Christ Jesus my Lord.
In the name of Jesus, I am Your child. I am dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of You, Lord, that You are my Refuge and Fortress: my God; in You will I trust. You cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings shall I trust: Your truth is my shield and buckler.
Because You are my Lord, my Refuge and Habitation, no evil shall befall me — no accident will overtake me — neither shall any plague or calamity come near me. You give Your angels special charge over me, to keep me in all of my ways.
Thank You for hearing my prayer. You are with me in trouble; You deliver me and satisfy me with long life and show me Your salvation.

God the Father, we pray for all inmates currently in our prison system and ask You to have mercy on them. Whether they have been incarcerated for minor offenses or major ones, we ask that they repent of their wrongdoing and seek to follow Your will. May they seek Your forgiveness and make things right with those they have wronged. Help them to have the remorse of David, the zeal of Mary Magdalene, and the trust of Dismas, the good thief. May they become humble, patient, loving and merciful. And may these graces spread out to their families. We ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
