I know I post A TON of questions on here, mostly because I cannot find peace. I do not understand people, the concept of “sins” or myself. I guess the ultimate question I cannot answer is why are we here and why are we made the way we are? Are some people better than others because they have less “sins” and “infirmities”?

Certain sins make you feel like a terrible person. How do you confess? Some people say it takes humility to realize you are wrong. It always seemed to me that God loves those outside his church more – there is no judgment on them. They do not hear masses where they reminded how they fail, they do not believe in anything after this life, they do not have to confess their sins to anyone. They do not even have to label or acknowledge their transgressions. They can select whatever moral standard they want to abide to, at least they adhere to it. How many people honestly follow God’s law?
Some people sin in ways they make them a bad person - judgmental, rude, intolerant, racist, close-minded, prejudiced, ignorant, bullying, nosy/gossiper, they commit crimes (murder, theft, rape)

Some people “sin” in ways that are justifiable or at least socially acceptable (do not agree w/ Catholic doctrine & dogma, have sex outside of marriage, children out of wedlock, do not attend Church or read a bible) Usually these “sins” are no one’s business but their own/private sin. How dare you correct someone for divorcing, “fornicating”, etc.

It is their life and free-will. They can select how to use it. Ultimately you are responsible for navigating your own life/well-being. If you are truly content with yourself, why does any of this matter?

It is hard to label us all sinners, if some people seem WAY WORSE THAN OTHERS. Not all “sins” backfire on the transgressor. Not all sins require correction from an outsider.

If I am going to follow a religion, I think I should at least understand it. I know I am the type to ask why? why? Some people simply accept thing as that. It is not in my character. Some people find it annoying. Like me or hate me for it. I am sorry if I have made many enemies here already. I think I may do RCIA classes. Probably purchase a bible soon. I will be gone soon enough. don’t worry. LOL:rolleyes:

Ask all the questions you want Cratus. Consider CAF as your family, sort of. We’re here to help even if we don’t always give you the answers you seek or are sometimes impatient. 😃

I still like what an old catechism says:

*3. Why did God make us?
God made us to show forth His goodness and to share with us His everlasting happiness in heaven.

Eye has not seen nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, what things God has prepared for those who love him. (I Corinthians 2:9)

4. What must we do to gain the happiness of heaven?
To gain the happiness of heaven we must know, love, and serve God in this world
.

Lay not up to yourselves treasures on earth; where the rust and moth consume and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up to yourselves treasures in heaven; where neither the rust nor moth doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. (Matthew 6:19-20)
  1. From whom do we learn to know, love, and serve God?
We learn to know, love, and serve God from Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who teaches us through the Catholic Church.
I have come a light into the world that whoever believes in Me may not remain in darkness. (John 12:46)
  1. Where do we find the chief truths taught by Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church?
We find the chief truths taught by Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church in the Apostles’ Creed.
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. (Luke 10:16)*

It says.in the bible:

“ALL PEOPLE HAVE THE LAW OF GOD WRITTEN ON THEIR HEARTS.”

God.gave everyone a conscience no matter who they are.

So anyone whose conscience tells them something is GRAVELY morally wrong, and commits it freely and deliberately = mortal sin, which if a person dies without confessing or repenting = hell for eternity.

Anyone who was brought up correctly by their parents, or other adults, or who got maybe.religious education, Or who has heard church teaching
These people have had their consciences informed. They have been told what is gravely wrong. To deliberately and freely to gravely immoral acts with this knowledge is a mortal sin no matter who you are.

So no, people outside the church don’t get away free from doing whatever they like whenever they like.

Individual sins; these effect God and your body. So they hurt you and hurt God. So even if it hurts no one else its crucifying Jesus all over again, who still suffers for us in every tabernacle and mass for our sins of impurity. It says in the bible; “Did you know you are not your own? Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.”

God.created intercourse for a married man and woman to create children. Its sacred.
If you masturbate or fornicate or do homosexual acts, you are desecrating temples of the Holy Spirit. You are not an animal.

Impure acts with others:
Then you are possibly damning their souls to hell.
How does.that not hurt them? It does. It destroys their chance of.getting into heaven. How is that good for you or them?

Also, all the people on earth are God’s people. Sin draws down God’s justice on the earth.
How many people may be carrying crosses of suffering in reparation for someone else in the world who is masturbating or fornicating? There are victim souls who suffer for the sins of the world. St Gemma Galgani was one. Do you want to add to their suffering so you can have false pleasure?

Important point you seem to be.missing;
Sin, NEVER makes a person happy.
It destroys them emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, psychologically, conscience wise, -everything.
Its a lie. Psychologists even say doing the wrong things destroys a person from the inside.

Having God makes a person happy.
Keeping His commandments.

I also know this from experience.
Sin is a path to depression, anxiety, temptation, despair, lack of hope, pain, great sadness, unhappiness, sorrow, punishment (you earn God’s justice if you sin, HIS blessing if you walk with Him). People who sin are under God’s justice, they carry so many sufferings and crosses God never originally intended for them, they are open to attacks from satan constantly -who can harm them mentally, their health, their relationships, bad luck, accidents, misfortune, calamity, pain, guilt,.shame, remorse, conscience, Suffering, Attacks,
Because they have.chosen to step off of God’s path of blessings and protection.

Read lives of the saints and you will see how HAPPY life with God is.
Its overwhelming.

God doesnt want to destroy His virtuous people with suffering as you seem to think.

He BLESSES them.
Abraham in the Bible:
GOD made Him.very wealthy, same with King David

Goes to show God can call us to a very fulfilled life in the world, (without sin of course). I think you have a wrong.view.of a saint starving, poor and unhappy. That is Not what God does!

Outside of living a life of BLESSINGS on your possessions and soul from keeping the commandments
Your normal job,.your.family, friends, duties, hobbies, talents
These.are.all your earthly missions
And you are meant to.enjoy them and have GREAT joy from them

Yes God respects our free will, but mortal sin damns a soul to hell if unconfessed. God lets us choose Heaven or Hell. Your actions.choose where you go.
There are different commandments, each.with a different punishment.

Important point you seem to be.missing;
Sin, NEVER makes a person happy.

Its a lie. Psychologists even say doing the wrong things destroys a person from the inside.

So about your statement
Yes, EVERY SINGLE SIN BACKFIRES ON THE TRANSGRESSOR from the moment they give consent in their thoughts, and they earn punishment either on earth or purgatory (small sins), or forever (for grave sins, =Hell).

Having God makes a person happy.
Keeping His commandments.

Can they harden their consciences and become bitter people with no remorse or joy? Yes. It says in the bible about Noah’s ark, The last days.and of Hell; “People were eating and drinking and dancing and giving in marriage right up until the ark came.”
These were people having their fill of sin until they slipped over the chasm to hell. Where is their false pleasure now?

Read lives of the saints and you will see how HAPPY life with God is.

Do you want to live a BLESSED HAPPIEST LIFE POSSIBLE IN EVERY WAY on earth?
Do you want to continue that life forever in Heaven where it will be infinitely greater?

My earthly father said once that ignorance is bliss,
and that is why he doesn’t read the Bible too much,
because he will be held accountable for knowing
things he does were wrong.
But the Bible says different, Proverbs is FULL of
advice to GAIN knowledge and understanding of
God’s laws and commandments, for ALL THINGS
SERVE HIM. Even the devil is bible savvy because
he knows that “the sting of death is sin and the
power of sin is the law” 1 Cor. 15:56 even the devil
uses God’s laws to condemn Christians!!!

Hello there,

The catholic holy bible is a good place to start.

Try to read some here:
drbo.org/

Also, the lives of the saints are a source of inspiration

Read some here:
saints.sqpn.com/

Purchase encyclopedia of the saints too in addition to the holy bible. I find them a great help in finding happiness and peace.
