Lots of people only need physical healing. Some people will not like the spiritual healing idea. I don’t think linking the two is a good idea. Keep your businesses separate.

Lol (name removed by moderator). Okay, irishmom2; what would you suggest?

I’m not doing exorcisms. What I’m doing is praying over people as a layman is allowed to do.
What confuses me is why you think you need to press sacramentals to folks foreheads and try to provoke signs of demonic possession in order to pray over people.

You can very easily leave this demonic stuff to the professionals and simply pray for people. You don’t even have to pray over people. You could simply pray for people without having to make it a “thing”.

Well, I’m waiting for a book to show up at my local Catholic store; a practical guide of deliverance ministry.

I’m not trying to provoke, only discern. I press sacramental to folks’ foreheads on the theory that Jesus’ power flows through it. Like when the lady suffering twelve years’ hemorrhages touched Jesus’ cloak and was healed.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. You are not Jesus.

Where are you getting this idea that Jesus’ power flows through your crucifix?
No.

Lol. As for demons returning, i don’t think the demon left yet. She reported the demon was twisting a turning inside her. I taught my coworker the Saint Michael prayer, advised her to live the best moral life that she can ( I read that Fr Amorth advises those he liberated to do after the exorcism ) and go see a priest ASAP. I’m hoping the priest will start her on her conversion.

I don’t think she’s possessed. I think she’s oppressed. She doesn’t manifest any of the classic possession signs. If she did, I’d’ve sent her to a priest right away. That’s interesting that you mentioned giving her a Blessed rosary. I already thought of it but I thought teaching her the Saint Michael prayer would have covered her. I’ll offer it to her the next time I see her.

The odd thing is; one of her medium friends, an alleged Christian; said it wasn’t a demon but a trickster fairy. She bought a quartz stone with an angel on it to make the “ fairy “ go away. She even was talking to the fairy, telling it to go away. I advised her today ( I’ve been following up on her as a concerned friend ) to not talk to the “ fairy “ and say the Saint Michael prayer instead relying on the quartz stone or the four spirits this “ Christian “ advised her to pray to.

These are some good ideas, (name removed by moderator). Thanks! She’s reported going to Mass before without any reactions and she even goes yearly to get a blessing from the priest. I’ll offervto go to Mass with her as well. It’ll be a little difficult; she lives twenty minutes away in another town

Okay, fair enough. This “ Christian” also told her that the “ fairy “ is going away on its own and that she doesn’t need the priest’s blessing. Lol Even though she’s advised praying to spirits as part of making the “ fairy “ go away. I’d like to meet this friend. Another of her friends is a professed witch. I’m worried about what the witch might advise my friend to do.

Why Cajun? How about if I stop putting sacramentals to foreheads; would that sit better with you?

I think some folks, and I even hate to write this, romanticize exorcisms.
I do not…
In my time on earth I have met people who seem to want to be a “conduit for Christ”.

When I think of these two things converging in an individual I am reminded of Acts 19

The Sons of Sceva

11 And God did extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them. 13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to pronounce the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” 14 Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. 15 But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, mastered all of them, and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Okay, Cajun. I’m sorry. I’m not meaning to make anyone feel a bad feeling. I just simply want to help people. I think that perhaps I’m called to deliverance ministry. This ministry would be praying for people as they need/ask of me. Helping people toward the Church. With advice and suggestions. That’s all I mean to do. I’m sorry Cajun that I gave you a bad feeling.

I appreciate that. I have been doing that: Going to my priest and the chancery to make sure that what I’m doing is in line with the Church. I’m not seeking out the demonic; just want to be prepared better for the future; should I encounter the demonic again.

I actually agree with all of this.

I do think most people get to to the second explanation and not the third. And only someone that is trained through the church should be attempting to help with the third. I also think the average person is not going to run into anyone that truly has a demonic presence in their lifetime. It is just not that common, and should be referred to a priest.

I guess it is my military background…but I tend to think of this more in the “chain of command” sense.
The Church has a very specific, very detailed chain of command on all things.

If Michael16 wants to truly have a ministry and serve the Church there is a roadmap available as to how it is done.

Go to school, go to seminary…serve the Church…the things he is wanting to do are done by those who have followed this path.
