I’ll be praying for Norma. The fact that noone will do anything makes me so mad. Praying that the judge has his heart touched by the Lord and that he makes the dad get help and suspends the visitation. He needs to get some serious help. He has some severe anger issues and needs to get help.

I thought of this the other day and immediately said a prayer for the kids. Have they ever implied that they might hurt themselves to they don’t have to go back to their Dads house??

I pray for you all the time too Nana. I know that this is tearing your heart part.
Thanks Keri. Yes, the oldest, Marissa, told us one day that she might commit suicide and that way all this would end. We talked to her about it all and she is much better now. Thanks for reminding me of this for this is something my sister should mention to the judge on the stand to show the despair my niece was feeling. This was when she first had to go to her dad’s and they were newly divorce about a year ago. Thanks for your prayers for me. Yes, it bothers me so and sometimes I can’t sleep. I had a dream about my niece and nephew that I can you about, but won’t to my sister. I had two in fact that my ex bil, the kid’s dad, killed the children. I hope that it was just my mine going wild and this never happens.

Nana, We are awaiting the outcome of today’s hearing. Please consider letting us know the time so we can cover all of you in prayer. (I am thinking to pray that time especially for the judge to do his job in helping these poor children to be safe.) We love you all.

Definitely keep us posted Nana3. We are praying!!

Sincerely,

THE HEARING IS TOMORROW, THE 6TH OF SEPTEMBER, AT 1:30 P.M. EASTERN TIME.

Norma did talked to someone at DCF yesterday and he said that they need to hear from the dad and he is not answering their calls. My sister told them where he works and his work number. They need to talk to him before doing anything, like taking the kids from him or I should say ceasing all visitation for now. The DCF worker said he was trying to do all this before tomorrow so that they can be there as well. They do see this as physical child abuse so that is good for before they did not.

Also, the dad will be picking up the kids today at 3 p.m. from school for his midweek visit. Please pray for their safety. He is very manipulative and controlling. I worry about the kids. I had another dream last night where we were following him and the kids and they went into a restaurant. He took Luis after correcting him on something to the mens bathroom. I followed and went into the women’s bathroom and could hear the screams. I got mad and went into the men’s bathroom and stopped him. What a dream! I guess this is too much on all of our minds. My mom and the rest of us think of this ordeal 24 hours a day. We are just so grateful that finally DCF sees that there is a problem. I thank St. Philomena’s intercession for that and all of your prayers.

I will come home tomorrow after the hearing and hopefully have great news.

I have a question for all of you. My sister talked with her attorney yesterday and it seems that her ex’s attorney may or may not be there in court tomorrow. I guess the ex is not paying his attorney’s fees. Anyway, she told my sister that this case may be a “free for all.” What does that mean?

Since the dad isn’t answering the phone calls, does DCF look at that as he is hiding something?? I pray that there is great news tomorrow. I just feel so bad for the dad too. He really needs help. He needs to get professional help to deal with his anger issues. It breaks my heart that someone thinks its ok to act like this to their kids. There is something seriously wrong with him. Hopefully, the judge will see that awful mark he made and take away his visitation. I could care less about the dad’s rights…these kids are the important ones. I’ll be praying for the judge. My the Lord touch his heart and give him the guidence to make the right decision. Prayers for Norma to stay strong.

Just had a thought…if the dad’s lawyer isn’t going to be there, does the mean the dad can question Norma?? Just remind her to breathe. If she feels like she is going to flip out, take a deep breath and count to three and remember why she is donig this. I know you said in a previous post that you are worried about her forgetting things. Can she get some index cards and write everything down so she doesn’t forget??

I agree the dad needs much prayer and so does his wife. She is worse than he is according to the children.

Norma did ask her attorney if she could have note cards, because I thought of that too, but she said it would not be wise. She told Norma not to worry and that she would help her refresh her memory by asking the right questions. The one question that her attorney feels that her ex’s attorney will ask is something that they have been saying for years is her motive for calling DCF and that is that she is jealous of her ex’s marriage to his wife and wants revenge by keeping the kids. This of course is so untrue, but they honestly believe this to be the motive why my sister doesn’t like him to have the kids and not the real reason --child abuse.

I have some other good news. I attribute this little miracle to St. Philomena again. I am so hopeful for tomorrow. Anyway, as I said the dad was to pick up the kids today after school and we were worried, but he ended up calling at around noon time and said he could not for his wife needed to go to the ER for some problems and wouldn’t say what. My dad ended up picking up the kids and the kids were so so happy to see him there rather than their dad. Marissa told me she jumped up for joy when she saw it was not her dad. So they were safe with us. They came by here to my house for my dad had my daughter and dropped her off and that is when Marissa told me what she did.

This is great news. I have been worrying about them all afternoon.

I know the hearing is at 1:30 (and not 3), but I will be covering this with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Would anyone like to pray with me?

May God pour out His blessings on Norma, Marissa, Luis and their family. Amen.

I prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for these children and the court case to go in their favor today. Any news yet, Nana? God bless you for being such a kind and loving aunt to these children and rallying the prayers for them! :blessyou:

Still praying for the kids!! Please keep your prayer partners updated…

Hi everyone.

My sister did win in one area, but the most important, the kids, nothing was done.

First, the ex showed up without an attorney. He asked the judge to suspend the hearing until he could get another attorney. The judge denied it for he had one month to get a new attorney. The case went on. The judge said at the beginning that he will not be listening to anything that has to do with suspending the dad’s visitation. Norma’s attorney did show the judge the pictures of the marks on Luis’ bottom and the ex saw them for the first time also. He went on the stand and said that he could not pay child support for he has no money and since opening his daycare he has lost money and has earned nothing. I doubt that, lie number one. He said he had to quit being a cop because of his heart and he could have had a heart attack. That is lie number two, it runs in his family and the men in his family have heart attacks very young and he is very overweight and drinks a lot of alcohol. He also said he NEVER lays a hand on his son and that is lie number three. He told lies after lies while on the stand and after saying he would tell the truth “so help me God.” The judge told us all that he owes my sister $5800.00 in child support. The judge was so disgusted by this and said that if it weren’t for the fact that his wife was put in the hospital yesterday, he would be going to jail that very moment. His wife was admitted, according to the ex, yesterday for Chrons Disease. He also owes $3800.00 in medical bills give or take a few. To that the judge will wait until he could get an attorney to represent him on. He was refuting some of the bills. He also lied and said that he has talked to Norma about sending certified mail to his address because he could not get to a post office because of his hours at work. The post office is open on Saturday mornings though. He only told this to my sister two weeks ago, for I am the one who sends the certified mail and once he told her that, I started to send his certified mail, which had the medical bills in, to his daycare address. He made it sound like he told her years ago, but he didn’t. He just lied so much.

Anyway after the hearing, the courtwatcher talked with us, myself, Norma and two other sister of ours. She said that the judge did have it in his power to suspend visitation to protect the kids, especially since he saw the pictures. She said that is why they are there for the judges abuse their power. The judge just said he wanted to leave it in the hands of DCF but at the same time he admitted that DCF does nothing. So if he knew this, why not protect the kids himself? It made us angry.

Norma’s attorney told Norma to file a police report against the stepmom for what she did is child abuse and is a crime. Norma went to the county where she lives, which is the same police department the stepmom works in. The sergeant who talked to her told her that they are familiar with this deputy and that she has not worked for a year but is on medical leave and they wonder if she is really hurt. She was hit by a drunk driver while on duty as a deputy. She is a sheriff’s deputy. Norma told her that she was in the hospital for Chrons disease and she raised her eyebrows and said, “Well, I have no pity for her for she knows with this disease you should not drink alcohol and she does. She gets wasted so much.” This confirms what Marissa, my niece, has always said that her dad and stepmom drink too much. That would explain their behavior. She did say that they were going to do an internal investigation on this deputy, the stepmom, for there has been other complaints. She would not tell Norma what. Norma has to go on Sunday, the only day she has off, to the county where her ex lives in for that is where the crime took place and file a police report.

This sergeant also told Norma that she doesn’t know what is going on with this deputy, the stepmom, and Norma’s ex for they both have changed for the worse. She told Norma that ever since they got married things changed. She told Norma that she could not understand why my sister’s ex left a job of 12 years. When Norma was married to him, she could not get him to leave that particular police department for others paid more, but this new wife accomplished it.

Anyway, the judge was merciful on the ex. He did find him in contempt of not paying child support, but told him that if he paid $2000.00 by next Wednesday that he would not be found in contempt so as not to stain his record and he could get a job as a cop, which he said he is applying for. He asked for mercy from the judge and got it. My sister did not get this when she kept the kids from the dad for one summer to protect the kids from danger. She was found in contempt. That is another thing that the deputy sheriff sergeant told Norma and that is that because there is a crime here that she did not have to give the kids to her ex, but she said that the decision is the judge and if he felt she was in contempt, she goes to jail. This judge would find her in contempt for he has not protected the kids and would not understand why a mother would. He told her that last time what was not a good enough reason. It is to me.🤷

Our only hope is DCF who have it within their power to stop visitation. If they don’t by tomorrow at noon, the kids go to the dad. He will neglect them over the weekend for the last time his wife was in the hospital, he was there all day and the kids had to be responsible for feeding themselves all three meals. This is why they lost so much weight.

One other thing that happened today. When we got out of the court hearing, the school counselor called my sister. Luis is not doing well in school. He is acting out and cried one day and told the teacher what happened to him at his dad. It is bothering him so much. He is very afraid of going tomorrow to his dad. Norma wants to refuse visitation, but knows that she could go to jail. Her attorney does not advise it. The school counselor told Norma that she has told his first grade teacher that if he “loses it” again in anger to call her immediately. Both the deputy sergeant and this counselor told her to be on DCF every single day and tell them that they can’t wait to talk to the dad for he is avoiding their calls. That is what they are waiting on. The last time they closed the case for they could not reach him. That is so unfair to the kids. My sister will tell them that if they close this case just because they can’t talk to the dad, she will go to the Governor with this information. The Governor’s office is already involved, thank to my dh. The DCF administrator, the one who said he would have someone in court today, is on vacation and returns Monday. He will hear from Norma and us, if nothing is done over the weekend.

I can’t even begin to put into words how angry I am. Seriously, do one of the kids needs to be beaten so serverly before something will get done? The courts are suppose to protect the children not the parents!! Can’t the school call and report this abuse? I know in Oklahoma that if a teacher even thinks there is abuse they are suppose to call the police. I’m going to keep praying for a miracle!!!

We will continue to pray for this entire family!! The dad definately needs prayer and so does the step-mom. Why don’t we all re-focus on prayers for these two… God can change anything… Maybe the Dad and Stepmom will just ask that the children not visit anymore… My prayer will now be focused in that direction.

Oh, Nana, this is such sad news 😦 But do not lose hope. We are all still praying for these precious children’s safety, and God WILL get them through this. I offered my Holy Communion this morning for them, and I will keep begging St. Philomena to rescue them.

I had a thought–if the dad does take them tomorrow at noon, and if the wife is still in the hospital, maybe Norma or you could pre-pay an order of pizza for lunch to the kids’ address. Or maybe you could even show up and “catch” them being left home alone all day? I don’t know the rules about these sorts of things, thank God, but it was just a thought. Maybe give them extra money and a place to hide it (inside a book, pillow, etc.).

We were angry too and Norma’s attorney could not understand why we were not jumping for joy that he has to pay his child support. That is important, but for us the kids’ safety was much more important and we lost that in court.

Yes, according to DCF, the kids have to be severly beaten or in the hospital for them do take the children away from a parent. It is very sad and it makes me want to fight to change the laws. The laws are more for the parents and that both parents are important in the children’s lives in a divorce no matter what. I disagree when child abuse is an issue.

I don’t know if the teachers have reported it or not. I know they do know of a report already made by us, but I don’t know if they will do another, yes, by law they should. I know the school counselors is very upset that nothing has been done. She told my sister that she knows DCF well and gave her some advice on how to beat the system. I have not talked to Norma yet to see what that was. She said she would call me when the kids go to sleep.

Yes, lets keep praying for a miracle for they do happen. I do thank the Lord for everything for He has his reason for allow this and we still have half a day. I hope DCF will do something.

I agree they need a lot of prayers and we have prayed for their conversion since they got married. I also pray for the stepmom kids who are going up without any Faith in their life. The 15 yr. old asked my niece once who the man on the cross was. She doesn’t know who Jesus is and the family is Catholic. This same girl is into things of the darkness.

Yes, we should also pray for their conversion and their names are Angel and Gayle.
