Nana, I haven’t been posting much lately, but please tell you sister that she is always in my prayers.

Nana, I haven’t been posting much lately, but please tell you sister that she is always in my prayers.
Thank you. She just got a call today, Sunday, from the school counselor. She told her that Luis wrote a letter while in school about his step mom and how cruel she is to him. Norma and her ex have a parent teacher conference with the counselor this Thursday at noon and the counselor will hand the ex this letter his son wrote to see what he has to say about it all. This woman, the stepmom, is affecting Luis’ behavior. He needs to know this and see if he can control his wife.

I will let all of you know how that meeting goes. I ask all the Saints to pray for them on their feast day.

Praying for this family, that these poor children find the courage to speak to the counselor, and they get the help they deserve :gopray2: :gopray: :signofcross:

I hope Thursday’s meeting went well.
My sister was on time to the conference with the teacher and counselor and they waited for the dad for 10 minutes and my sister had to go to work. They started the meeting and the dad never showed up or call to explain why he did not go to the meeting. This is not surprising to us though. The school has a good idea now of what kind of dad and person he is. In the meeting, they discussed ways to change Luis’ behavior with behavior modication and reward system. It is working great so far. Luis is in Occupational Therapy also for his sensory integration problems and this has helped so much. He is able to control his anger and this is great. He did very well on his first report card. Marissa did well also, but had a lot of low C’s. She is normally an A student, but Fifth grade is harder.

Keep Marissa in your prayer today and tomorrow. She is running a high fever. She was at her dad’s this weekend and they did not give her any medicine to lower her temperature. She was taken to my parents this morning by her dad.

Thanks for all of your prayers. The kids were so happy to see that their mom and dad were working things out, but they go up and down in their emotions depending on what negative stuff they hear at their dads. They says what makes them saddest is the hatred towards her mom by their stepsisters and their stepmom.

I hope Thursday’s meeting went well.
Well, the dad never showed up so the school counselor could not address the letter Luis wrote. Both the teacher and the counselor want to talk to this dad, but he doesn’t show up to the meetings. He never called to explain or cancel.

Luis is having a lot of trouble in school. This Catholic School has been great in working with my sister and the kid’s counselor, but they are at a loss of what else to do for he keeps misbehaving. He has a lot of anger and my sister’s counselors says that Luis and Marissa both suffer from depression. Luis is diappointed in the system and with his counselors. In his last visit with his dad, he told everyone of going fishing with his dad. They took alone their toy poodle, I think that is what he is, and this little dog was sniffing the fish they caught. The dad got so angry at the dog for going near the fish, Luis and Marissa said he picked up the dog and started to hit it hard over and over again. After that he threw the dog on the floor. Marissa loves animals and was so disturbed by this. This man should not be alone with these kids for he has so so much anger. I do believe he did this for I myself saw him beat his german shepherd when he was still married to my sister and I had to stop him. I also was a witness to him doing this to Luis when he was 4 and I tried to stop him then, but he yelled at me to stay out of it. I called Norma and told her to get home fast and she yelled at him. My legs were shaking from the anger that this man had while hitting his son. Of course, he denied hitting him anymore upstairs, but I heard it. This was when he was married to my sister.

My sister, Norma, was to have a counseling session with Angel, the ex, and the counselor. The purpose of these sessions is so that they can better get along for the sake of the kids. Well, he is not going to show up for my sister called him yesterday and he said he was not going. I told her to go alone and tell of all that he has done since and we pray and pray that this counselor will call DCF yet again and report mental abuse and call the judge as she said she could do and talk to him. Something has to be done soon.

Luis may be in another school before the Christmas holidays. The dad does not call them when they are with my sister to see if they are okay. He dropped off Marissa sick with fever two weeks ago on a Monday and she missed three days of school and he did not call once to see who she was or what was causing her fever. She had an ear infection that cause balanced problems too. She is not doing so great in school, math being the worse subject. She is very depressed also but accepts everything and doesn’t bother to complain anymore.

Thanks for asking. 👍 I will let everyone know if this psychologist my sister sees today will do anything. Please continue to pray for I truly believe that Jesus will answer our prayers, especially when we trust with all our hearts that what we ask will be granted if it is good for us or to those involved.

What a tragic story will pray that god helps the father to change his mind and leave the children alone with their mother :gopray2:
Update:
The kids just were at their dads this weekend. Their dad and my sister, since starting counseling, have been better in their communication with each other. Well that changed today. The kids are off today, Monday and tomorrow. They have to share the vacation from school equally, so he got today and my sister gets tomorrow, starting tonight. He agreed to bring the kids home at 7 pm tonight, but called my sister this afternoon and asked if she could come to pick them up at his house, which is one hour away. She said that he is suppose to bring them to her house according to the final divorce papers. He disagreed and asked if she could meet him half way. She agreed and he agreed. One hour later he calls her again and told her that if she wants them she can come and pick them up. They argued and she agreed for the sake of the kids for she talked to Marissa and she wanted to come home immediately. She told her ex to have them ready at 7 pm and when she got there, they were not ready. She called her ex and told him to have the kids come out. She waited and waited and ten minutes passed and they were not out. My dad was with her and he said this was childish and ridiculous. He went to their door and rang the door bell. No answer to that. He knocked and no answer, so my sister called her ex again and he admitted he was not home and would call to have them let the kids out. Ten more minutes went by and no kids. She called him again and told him to stop playing games and he admitted that his wife was with him too and the kids were with the oldest child the 15 yr. old. She told him to call the 15 year old to let the kids out and she knocked on the door while she had him on the phone. They opened and the kids came out 21 minutes after she got there.

The kids told her that something happened over the weekend. They first told her that their dad and Gayle were fighting for 20 minutes because their dad wanted to take them home and his wife said no to have Norma come out. Then when Norma agreed, she told him that they should go out. All this in front of the kids. She even yelled at Angel and asked why he was being nice to Norma. This bothered the kids who were so happy their parents were getting along.

Something else that happened was that Luis apparently ate some new food and his dad was not home. He face began to break out and he was itchy. He had “bumps” on his face. Marissa had to tell her step mom that it was an allergic reaction and she should give him Benadryl. She said no and that he needed a shower and “wash it off.” He took a shower and still had the problems and he came to her and she told him to get out of her sight and go to bed. Marissa was worried and kept an eye on him and his breathing. Thank God she has some common sense to do that. Marissa also told her mother that her and Luis have outgrown their shoes and when their stepmom bought new shoes for her daughter, she told them that they could stay with what they have. The stepmom had hidden some shoes that Norma bought for Marissa about a year ago. She took those shoes out of hiding and told Marissa that she could wear those. Marissa told her that the shoes were a size 2 and she is now a size 3. This woman looked at her and told her that she could “squeeze her toes in them.” Can you believe that? Luis came home with shoes in his backpack and said he hid his shoes in the backpack to bring them to his mother for they don’t fit and he said his dad and Gayle make him wear it. So he brought them home to give to the poor. Norma looked and they were a size 12. He is now in 13 1/2 size shoes. Unbelieveable!!

There is more and it was all verbal and emotional abuse. The kids said they don’t tell their counselor anything for nothing ever gets done. I can’t blame them for saying that for it is true. May Our Dear Lord have pity on them and do something soon to help these kids from abuse.

Hi everyone,

I have a new update and I can’t go into to much details, but todays meeting with the psychologist with my sister went well. She told my sister not to have pity on her ex as far as the medical bills go and the child support. She feels, and so do I, that if he wanted to work he could have been working by now even if it is not as an officer. He claims that he still has no job–two months now.

The news that I can’t tell you involves her son, but Norma needs prayers to decide what to do and if she should go with the recommendations of this psychologist. If my sister does do what this psychologist wants to do, the kids will not see their father for a entire month. NO, she will not run away with them, that is not it. This psychologist is fully aware that the problem the kids are having, the depression and anger, is due to the problems and abuse at their dads. She is upset that DCF or the judge have let these kids down. She believes that the dad and his wife are mentally ill. She believes that the kids would improve without their dad in their lives. All this is good, but she believes that her opinion alone will not count for the judge who is mostly on this dad’s side. That is all I can say for now, but please things make work out after this period of 30 days without their dad. We have to pray that it does happen legally and that the dad will not protest.

My sister is also looking into schools in case this Catholic School can no longer deal with Luis. Summit Charter school seems to be the logical choice and it is free. We have heard good and bad on this kid of school. Norma needs prayers on this decision also. She is suffering so much and cried after her visit with the psychologist today at her recommendations to help Luis. Please, keep her tonight in your prayers.

I can not express again, how blessed I feel to have all of you to turn to and confide in and ask for prayers and support. My sister has told me to tell all of you that she loves you all and thanks you for your prayers on her behalf and her kids to God. She needs this intercession and all of you are her saints on earth. Thank you again. We truly are a big family.

Thank you for update. Praying that Wisdom and Good Counsel will prevail with all involved especially the legal people…

Thank you Barbara. I found out today from one of my daughter’s choir moms, who is a paralegal, that the judge my sister has on this case is a judge for men, especially cops. This explains how he ignored the child abuse charges and the recommendation of the kids’ counselor to give the dad supervised visitation. This paralegal advised me to talk to Norma and have her ask her attorney to submit in writing a request for another judge. I don’t know if we can do this, but she said we can.

Luis is in severe depression and did not go to school today for he kept crying. He doesn’t want to go tomorrow to his dad’s. Please pray for their safety, for they go to their dads tomorrow after school until Monday morning. The counselors all agree that these kids are verbally and mentally abused, but feel that they can’t do anything for child services did nothing. The psychologist is going to try one more thing and I hope and pray it works.

One thing is for sure, we have to go to court again for the dad is not paying child support or his past due amount either. I pray that we get a fair and just judge and the one we have now needs to go. It is his fault that Luis got a beating for the counselor appeared in court before that last beating and told the judge that these kids are in danger at their dads. I am so angry at the judge.

God when will these legal people, and the judge, waken up and see whats going on, what needs to happen to these children before they start listening to their mum, still praying for them and the judge to start seeing sense:signofcross:

Dear Nana…I hope you will indeed be able to apply for another judge, and be successful in doing so. It is indeed the children (who are supposed to be protected) who are suffering the most…and I will be keeping the whole situation in daily prayer. Our protective services for children here in South Australia is appalling also…our children and our elderly are very very vulnerable always…Barb

I give it all to the Merciful Heart of Jesus.

Lord, work powerfully on all the authorities involved in this, the judge, the lawyers, the children’s services, the counsellors, the teachers, the schools. Let Your Mercy fill their hearts that they may see what terrible things have been happening to these children, that they themselves may have mercy on these children and remove them from the abuse.

Lord, in Your Mercy, hold Norma to Your Heart. Help her to make these decisions according to Your Will. Guide her and sustain her.

Lord, have mercy on Marissa and Luis. Enfold them in Your Merciful Loving Heart and protect them from further harm.

Jesus, I trust in You.
Amen

Thank you Mary Ann, Barbara and Linda for your prayers.

Barbara, my sister’s attorney told her that she can not ask for another judge and we are stuck with him. We will have to pray for this judge.

Update:

I can now tell you all what I could not before. My nephew has been acting out in school, as all of you know, well his counselors feel that he needs to be hospitalized for severe depression. We all know that the source of this depression is at the dad’s house and the riducule, name calling and other abuses that he has to deal with, but proving it is another thing. The counselors feel that if they have another party involved, the hospital, the judge will have to listen to them. The dad would not be allowed visitation except at the hospital. He would not be able to take the kids out to his house. The problem was Marissa for Luis would be hospitalized, but poor Marissa would go alone to her dads and the counselor told Norma not to worry about that. I am unsure what she is planning. We had to find out if the dad’s permission was needed to hospitalized, because if so, he would not allowed it. My sister’s attorney said, yes his permission is needed and if he says no, we would go to court to get the judge to make it an order.

Anyway, something happened today that may change this all. Luis has been acting out ever since his return from his dad’s weekend. We found out that Marissa was not there and stayed at friend’s house, so Luis was alone with the stepmom for one entire day that we know of. Luis must have been yelled out for he won’t talk and has been acting out his anger instead.

Today, was the start of their dad’s weekend after school. He called Norma to say that he could not pick up the kids and if she could and he would pick them up at our parent’s house. Luis did not want to go to his dad and mentioned it yesterday, yet again. He has to by law. Anyway, when they saw their granddad pick them up, they were so happy and thought they did not have to go to their dads. My dad told them that their dad was going to pick them up at his house later. They started to tell my dad that they don’t want to go. Their father was suppose to pick them up at 4:30 p.m. but did not show up until 5:47 pm and Norma was now there at her house. The kids cried when she told them their dad was on the way. When he got there, my sister met him outside and told him that they are crying in the house and didn’t want to go. He went in and forced Luis by grabbing his arm and taking him to his car outside. Marissa started to cry the more. Norma begged him not to do it this way. Luis got out of the car twice as his dad closed the door, he got out at the other end. His dad got so angry and Luis ran into the house. The dad than asked Marissa to get into the car and she just was hysterical. He than got the back packs out that he put into his car and threw them on the grass and got into the driver seat and sped off. Marissa saw he drove up and cried in the driveway and said, “Oh, daddy.” She ran in the house and when Norma came in after her and said, “Daddy, will get into an accident.” Now, Norma had both of them crying hysterically. Luis kept saying, “Daddy is mad and he will hit me the next time he sees me.” Marissa was saying over and over again, “It is my fault, it is my fault!” Norma had to hold them both and calm them down.

She called her attorney who told her to call her ex. She called her ex and she told him to have patience with their children and how they both suffer from depression and that Luis may need to be hospitalized. He sounded as he gave up on the kids. He told Norma to do whatever she wanted about that and that he will not be calling the kids anymore or picking them up. She told him that they just hate going to his house for they don’t like his wife and he didn’t like that and said their is nothing wrong with their household. He blamed everyone, but himself. He told her that he was not angry at the house, even though his behavior said otherwise. He said he was hurt that his kids don’t love him. Norma told him that they do love him, but hate his anger and hitting of them. He ended the conversation saying that he will not bother the kids anymore.

continued:

WE don’t know if he meant this for he is very unpredictable. He told Norma that when the kids wanted to visit him to call him. He will change his mind when he finds out that he will have to go to court again for Norma’s attorney filed paperwork today for he is in contempt for not paying child support again. I think, he will want to hurt Norma again than and demand the kids no matter what. What I pray for is that if we could convince him to sign paperwork giving up his parental rights, Norma would forget about the child support. I don’t know if Norma would do this for today she really feels sorry for her ex and how bad his life is now, but I reminded her that his life was a result of his bad choices, starting with their divorce. We all begged him to work things out and he said he wanted to be happy with someone else, his mistress, who he married and is still not happy. He needs God, but he is not ready to hear that again. I have told him many times in the past.

Please, pray that what will be best for Marissa and Luis to done. Maybe, this dad will finally leave this wicked woman he married who is a control freak. He can’t seem to think for himself. We worry that when he gets home today, his wife will force him to go get his kids and force them to come to their home. This could happen tomorrow to tonight.
