Prayers for Baby with cancer in both eyes

  Please, please pray to Jesus our loving Savior for this poor baby.  She is so young and yet it is so soon in her life that she has this terrible trial.  If you will remember, St. Lucy, I picked you as my Confirmation Saint because I was so moved by your story of how you pledged your virginity to God and even died for Him in order to stay pure.  If you can, please return the favor for this poor baby in her sickness.  Ask God for His healing power to come upon this child and ask God to send His angels to accompany the child in the hospital room as well.  Many thanks in advance!

I recently read an article that said that they now have drops that they can put in an eye that does the same job as a patch. You might want to check into that.

When my son was 6 years old we discovered that he had a lazy eye and we had to do patching. It was awful as he didn’t want to wear it and kept taking it off. Plus comments re the patch from playmates bothered him.

I hope you can find something on these drops.

Praise be to God! Lord, please heal this little child. Please bring comfort and peace to her parents, assuring them that you are in control and are taking care of all of them. Amen.

Baby Annaliese did very well last night. She awoke eight or nine times but let me comfort her until 5am when she demanded her mama . The mama came and the baby nursed and then she slept two more hours. That means the mama and grandma and sister and young au pair (also from Europe) had a total of nine+ hours of sleep. This morning, all looked terribly refreshed, thank heaven - and Baby was quite cheerful. We’re guessing that maybe the darkness of night time disturbs her since she has so many issues with her eyes. From now on: a nightlight!

What a blessing you are to this family! And how neat that you discovered that Anneliese needs a night light! 🙂 Recently we discovered that our 9 month old (healthy, thank God) daughter hates driving at night. Singing makes her happier in those situations 😉 Continuing prayers for Anneliese, her family, and for you.

Again my thanks to all and here’s another update.

For the last few weeks Anneliese has been off chemo and feeling so wonderfully healthy. Her eating and sleeping are moving back to appropriate levels and her mood is so happy. On Oct 23rd, we will learn if chemo must be resumed. I’ll add that this cancer is found in children aged birth through 5 yrs and it is linked to a genetic glitch - so even if she has no need for more chemo now, there is a long haul ahead. I’ll keep you posted. God bless you.
 
May Jesus lay his hand upon your baby and take away the pain and illness. May He also hold you and your family in the palm of His hands. I pray for you.

Baby Anneliese still in our prayers & added to our nightly Rosary list!
 
Again, my thanks to all three of you:

Steve and Barbara Therese and Luke!

Between the times when BT and Luke posted, the daddy called me to say that Anneliese began another round of chemo today. In a way this is good news since it means she’s strong enough to endure the treatment. The treatment is being given as a precaution since this cancer is so insidious but the baby is truly strong and otherwise healthy. The chemo goes on for five days per round and then it takes a week or two for her to recovery from the toxicity and then she gets healthy and happy pretty quickly.

Have I mentioned that the family has to have their 3 yr old daughter examined (under anesthesia) every six months to make sure she is not showing signs of this cancer? (Strong genetic glitch.) This goes on until each girl turns FIVE yrs old.

Your prayers and devotion are WONDERFUL. I can’t thank you enough. God bless you and blessed be God!
 
We will continue to pray for all traces of cancer to be removed from Anneliese and for her vision to be preserved. And now we will add special prayers for her next round of chemo to go well and for her sister to stay cancer-free. Praise God that the sister has gone this long without any cancer and is more than half-way to the “safe age” of 5! What is the sister’s name, if you don’t mind sharing? It would be nice to pray for her by name 🙂
