please pray for my cousin, john.
he collapsed on monday with spinal meningitis.
he is currently hospitalized and heavily sedated so that he doesn’t move.
he is a father of 3 school age children.

Most merciful Lord of all, You alone conceived of John from all eternity as an irreplaceable part of Your Divine plan for Creation. Graciously sustain John now, in his hour of testing. Lord, strengthen his family and loved ones, replacing their anxiety with faith and trust in You. May they turn to fasting and prayer, calling many graces down upon him. Heavenly Father, you are the Creator and Healer of all. Incline your ear to hear the intercession of Beloved Christ Jesus on John’s behalf. With petitions at Your right hand, and others coming from all the Saints in Your Kingdom, may John receive the most compassionate care from those who are blessed by Your hand to attend to his healing. Call upon us to intercede on John’s behalf daily, restoring his health and causing Your Name to be praised to Highest Heaven. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen. Alleluia!

Praying for John and his family. May the Lord watch over him, and protect him. May he comfort this family in their sorrow. May they turn to him for strength and courage, and have faith in God’s healing love.

Will be keeping John in daily prayer and may The Lord return him to his family in good health…keeping the family in prayer too for strength and consolations at this time of much stress and worry.

we heard from john’s sister today.
his white blood count is down to 17000 from over 40000.
he is starting to move in the bed and they plan to put him in a chair tomorrow to do some tests.
they say he has a long recovery ahead of him, but things are looking positive right now.
thank you Jesus!!

i received this message from John’s wife

Friday’s Update:

Every day has been terrific, but today was the best! All I can say is that it’s quite moving when a neurologist takes you by the arm and stares intensely in your eyes and says, “You need to thank God for him being here today. I have never seen a patient with levels close to this high recover in such a manner. His recovery is absolutely miraculous. I woke up everyday looking forward to seeing John, just because what has happen is so incredible to me.” He didn’t say the word miracle, I’m not sure it’s a word Dr’s like to use, but the teacher in me knows the root word of miraculous!

John passed the neurological exam 30/30. His double vision is being cause by the actual meningitis bacteria which has caused swelling in the large nerve that runs around the back of your head to the other eye. Due to this, his left eye is unable to reach the outer edge. The neurologist assured me this is very common and almost always goes back to normal. The double vision is the cause of his headaches. His neck pain has diminished today as well.

He now has a “pic line” for the IV antibiotics he will have to take for the next 10 days. There is a good chance he will finish them at home.

His vital signs are great. They are watching his heart rate when he is sleeping, they are still wondering if it’s a side effect to a medication or just the way John is. They don’t seem very concerned about it.

He was able to eat some lemon ice, jello and has been drinking a great deal. They did allow him to sit-up a few times and hopefully tomorrow he will be allowed to walk.

He ended the day with some last minute instructions for his hockey coaches, watched a few minutes of the Wings game and at 9:00 p.m. he was moved from the ICU to the “step-down” side of ICU. Tomorrow if a bed is available, he will be moved to a regular ward.

Thank you again for all your prayers, he wouldn’t have made it without them.

Praise be to God! Chewchoo, I have tears of joy after reading your update.

Heavenly Father, you never cease to humble me with your mercy and love for your children. I thank you, daily, for the numberous blessings you offer us, and offer my utmost praise and gratitude to you for all you do, and have yet to do. With all the love in my heart Lord, I worship and adore you.

john came home today.
the doctor said that when he first saw him in the hospital he didn’t think he would make it.
thank you everyone for the prayers 🙂
