First off, say a prayer of thanks for my wife and me! Our six month wedding anniversary is next Saturday!
Now for the nitty-gritty: we’ve been living apart for the last six months because she is finishing a graduate degree in another city. I was so confident that I was supposed to pursue a degree here in San Francisco and we had somewhat foolishly talked ourselves into the idea that it was going to be o.k. to live apart for this long.
The year hasn’t gone well at all for me, thanks to a horrible living situation on the outskirts of the ghetto of San Francisco, anxiety attacks, and latent laziness from my bachelor days. In short, things are just terrible right now. It’s almost as if I’ve wasted an entire year! Apart from my wife! For no good reason! All so I could pursue a stupid degree that I may not be cut out to get anyway :banghead:
Things are pretty stressful for her now, too. Her school situation is dire (though thankfully not so dire as mine), and seeing each other for two days every two/three weeks just isn’t helping much. I realize that this is pretty much all my fault and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude that my wife is even interested in being married to me at this point.
The only good to come out of this is that we’ve been able to shake off our romanticism and some of our more destructive childish vices. But now we desperately need God’s direction. Prayers? :byzsoc:
