sidhe54;6621037]Praying hard for Frank, whole family and loved ones.
I have not thanked you personally sidhe54 & I HAVE noticed your daily prayers…my life has been really hectic lately. I have, however, thanked God for you. I’ve never had this kind of prayer support & I am daily AMAZED at the peace it brings to Frank & to me. Just want you to know that, since Frank is showing some improvement, yesterday being Mother’s Day,I stayed home. My daughter brought a full home made meal to my house, I planted flowers with my Granddaughter, watched my 13 yr. old grandson chop off the sprouts that are growing too low on our trees & my son taking pictures of it all. My husband spent the day basking in the joy his family brings to him. The two boys who live away, both called with their phones on speaker so that I could hear their whole families sing "Happy Mother’s Day to you, etc.

I then went to bed at 11PM. & didn’t wake up until 9:30 AM. That is awesome for me. I feel rested, refreshed & ready to meet the challenges ahead.

Almighty Father, you are lavish in bestowing all your gifts, and we give you thanks for the on-line friends you have sent our way.
THANKS BE TO GOD FOR THE PEOPLE THAT I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHO ARE PRAYING FOR FRANK, MARTHA, MYSELF & MY WHOLE FAMILY. I will NEVER forget you.

To Christ the Great Physician
We know that there is one physician:
Both flesh and spirit
uncreated, yet born
God in man
True life in death
From both Mary and From God
Subject to suffering and then impassible
Jesus Christ our Lord!

We ask O Great Physician, for spiritual, physical, and emotional healing, especially my intention of Frank and his family and friends.
You of both flesh and spirit

May they spend all of their days in your healing presence
You the eternal Son born for us all

Grant them the healing benefits of your Incarnation, Death, and Resurrection
You who are true God and true man

Grant them your true life in the midst of pain and suffering
You, the true life in death

Grant them, and all of us, to follow your example and that of your Blessed Mother
You, from both Mary and from God

May their suffering be for their growth; free them, we pray, from that which they cannot bear
We ask You, O God the Word who became man to suffer

We ask you to grant them this healing if it brings them closer to you,
Jesus Christ our Lord!

Prayer To Our Lady of Perpetual Help
A Novena (Especially for the healing of Frank)

O MOTHER of Perpetual Help,
Grant that I may ever invoke
Your most powerful name,
Which is the safeguard of the living
And the salvation of the dying.

O purest Mary!
O sweetest Mary!
Let your name henceforth
Be ever on my lips.

Delay not, O Blessed Lady, To succor me
Whenever I call on you.

In all my temptations,
In all my needs,
I will never cease
To call on you
Ever repeating
Your sacred name,
Mary, Mary!

Oh, what consolations,
What sweetness,
What confidence,
What emotion fills my soul
When I utter your sacred name,
Or even only think of you!

I thank the Lord
For having given you,
For my good,
So sweet, so powerful,
So lovely a name.

But I will not be content
With merely uttering your name.

Let my love for you prompt me
Ever to hail you,
Mother of Perpetual Help.

Mother of Perpetual Help,
Pray for me
And grant me the favor
I confidently ask of you.
Please intercede for Frank and his family

Hail Mary (3 times).

Again, THANK YOU all for the prayers. My daughter is taking me to see Frank again tomorrow ( it’s a 140 mi. trip & nice to have company)& I will have more to tell you then about how your prayers are affecting our lives in such good ways.

BTW., those of you who have followed this thread from the beginning will remember that I spoke about just “lashing out” at our other 3 siblings, who pretty much banished Frank from their lives when he was diagnosed with cirrhosis. When he was drinking & successful in his business, they were good to him, when he hit bottom, lost everything…his wife, his business, etc. & put himself into a detox center (8 yrs. ago & he hasn’t had a drink since then) they were “gone”.seemingly ashamed of him.

I was very upset that I lost my temper with them when he was entered into the hospital & have felt such guilt about that. HOWEVER, I think some good things have come from it. They aren’t speaking to ME, 😉
but they are going to visit Frank about once a week. 🙂 I pray that all will be made well between them & me before too long, but our Brother is the one who counts at the present time.

A Prayer for Families from Pope Pius XII:
Under Thy paternal gaze, O Lord,
and with confidence in Thy Providence
and in the loving patronage of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
the family will become a sanctuary of virtue
and a school of wisdom.
It shall prove, as Christ has promised,
a haven of rest against life’s burdens.
In the sight of the world it shall render glory to Thee, O
Father,
and to Thy Son, Jesus, until the day when,
through Him, we shall, together with all His members,
sing the Divine praises in the eternal ages to come.

Amen.

Please, Heavenly Father, help myself & my siblings to put aside our differences, to ask forgiveness where it is needed & to love & find Sanctuary in each other.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Please intercede for my Brother’s life & health…that he may become well enough to live a fairly normal life…or that he be taken to rest in God’s Gracious Arms. Also, I ask for your help to bring myself & my siblings to a good place.

PRAYER FOR YOUR FAMILY
Heavenly Father,
you have given us the model of life
in the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Help them, O Loving Father,
to make their family another Nazareth
where love, peace and joy reign.
May it be deeply contemplative,
intensely eucharistic,
revived with joy.

Help them to stay together in joy
and sorrow in family prayer.
Teach them to see Jesus in the members of their families,
especially in their distressing disguise.
May the eucharistic heart of Jesus
make their hearts humble like his
and help them to carry out their family duties
in a holy way.
May they love one another
as God loves each one of us,
more and more each day,
and forgive each other’s faults
as you forgive our sins.
Help us, O Loving Father,
to take whatever you give
and give whatever you take with a big smile.

Immaculate Heart of Mary,
cause of our joy, pray for us.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

Holy Guardian Angels,
be always with us,
guide and protect us.

Amen.

You are so faithful, tbcrawford. At least once a day you pray for my brother, my family & me. Sunday’s visit wasn’t so good. So I’ve sort of stayed off the internet…no sense spreading depressing thoughts. It’s just that as soon as they take one machine away…they attach another. This time they had to put drainage tubes into the site around the colostomy incision. He’s still hooked to the dialysis machine around the clock, his heart is doing “fairly well” I was told…but the best thing is still that he can speak. It’s just that he seemed depressed, I talked to his nurse about it & she agreed. Of course, who WOULDN’T be depressed lying there as he has for two months. They talked about trying to get him into a wheelchair today, & give him a short tour around his floor. It’s all of the tubes attached to him…for nutrition, for hydradtion, for the dialysis machine, the smaller Trache tube he has now &, of course, he’s always attached to the machine monitoring his heart. It makes it really hard, as they have to haul much of this with them. I hope they were successful & that it helped.

I have repeated the emboldened line in your prayer all day long today.
"May our suffering be for our growth; free us, we pray, from that which we cannot bear
We ask You, O God the Word who became man to suffer."
I give my Brother to you, Lord, as You know what is best. I ask
Your help in remaining strong for him & I thank You for the wonderful people at the hospital & for Martha.
