Again, I apologize for not replying earlier. We’ve had good news, but it was kind of a difficult holiday. Frank & I, Martha, my husband, children & Grandchildren all hoped that my brother would be home by now, but we did pretty well, anyway & he had MANY visitors this past weekend. In fact, I asked the nurse to tell us if we were wearing him out.
The good news: the doctors have agreed to reverse Frank’s colostomy soon. We found that out on Christmas Eve…what a Christmas present. Frank, Martha & I all sat in the doctor’s office at KU. Med. Two doctors talked with us. They explained that because of the original fistula that caused the terrible infection AND the opening made by the surgeons, It will be a serious affair, but they were optimistic about Frank’s chances of survival & recovery. So, the decision was his & he’s going for it.
If all goes well, the surgeon’s think that he will be home by Easter.
Do you remember that I said that I was giving him Missouri University houseshoes for Christmas? He just called & told me that he wore them for last night’s game. Mizzou LOST! :sad_yes:
I appreciate you all more than words can say. Just know that I TRULY believe that your prayers & my own (&, of course, the intercession of St. Jude) saved my Brother’s life. I can never thank you enough. I’m hoping to celebrate Easter Mass with him.

make it through this last surgery.
